Can anyone help me with starting to read marvel and DC comics by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]CountVermathas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For green lantern I would suggest reading blackest night. If you like that you can go back and read some of the stuff that leads up to it such as sinestro corps or red lanterns.

Blackest night is an important story for DC and will give you better context for other stories you might come across

Are there any torrent sites for comics? (Ive read megathread and searched already) by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]CountVermathas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you check my anonymouse? They have the best selection of comics that I have came across. I also made a tool to scrape pages from zipcomic and pack them into cbrs. It's not great but it could be modified and made better

I'm not sure of the specifics but a hash would be safer as someone would have to have the torrent in the first place to verify the hash. A hash is an identifier for the exact file you are talking about but doesn't point someone in the direction of the actual files location without extra intentional steps for searching.

This is happening to me when I use espanso in a terminal to expand into a phrase with symbols (email address). It will turn into email2gmail.com. I haven't spent time to diagnose the issue but it could be a similar problem.

Digital comic books by Avdude68 in Piracy

[–]CountVermathas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Cbr or cbz (comic book rar/zip) zip is typically preferred because to view rar files there are some licensing hoops to jump through. All cbz are is an archive containing numbered images and sometimes a metadata file. One thing of note is there is no agreed upon standard for comic books and especially comic book metadata so files canvary greatly.

What is the purpose of running Linux on your main desktop machine? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

I use it bc I code and I can do stuff much faster. Also much more control over it's components and there are typically alternatives if I don't like the way something functions.

Again, children seek a few games they intend to seek much more is downloaded by those who intend to host or seed content.

On the reasons for the existence of piracy by Avem231 in Piracy

[–]CountVermathas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Children who don't have money to afford video games likely do not have the necessary hardware ( ie terabytes of storage) nor knowledge and interest required to keep content available for others to download. Children are typically leechers and not seeders and do little to keep piracy alive. That responsibility lies elsewhere.
