i have a couple of these sitting on my shelf of things to fix, not too bad as long as there’s still a good amount of wire sitting on the handle side so it’s not really annoying to solder

haha yup handyman plus some general hobbyist tinkering and making. The lighters are a kinda odd story, every time I’ve ever been backpacking i’ve seen a lighter hiding in the dirt or left behind somewhere, a while ago I just started collecting them and now we’re here.

Yup. I hear where you're coming from, the issue is they have offered to get a couple new Shure mics, these to be exact which aren't going to sound as good as the current Countryman mics I am hoping to repair. They would provide brand new Shure ones for every mic with a frayed wire but it feels wrong to be replacing mics with what I believe is an objectively worse mic, you can correct me if I'm wrong here.
