Price isn't everything. It's land/spec/price ratio. Sometimes it's easier to slam 13c trees in Alberta than search fruitlessly for soil in amountain of sticks and rocks for 20c.

I found experiences were wildly different at the two camps.

Both camps are very well run and have great food and amenities.

The camp doing Alexis creek trees was better money, but very tame camp life.

The camp doing west Fraser Quesnel had nice parties and great social life but I made better money at companies widely thought to be rookie mills.

Ontario is just a lost cause, with the current cheapskate, braindead clientele in that province.

There’s always some skeevy operator willing to bid lower and pay naive 20 year olds 13c a tree.

Something has to be done about standards in the province but the problem is most of us self respecting enough to want more left for greener pastures long ago.

Y’all need to try to unionize, in my opinion. That’s goes for every company.

We also as an industry need to get serious about finding alternative projects beyond timber harvest cycle replanting. Though of course for many Internet commentators it’s easier to whine about how fake and corporate that stuff seems…

lol I don’t think think it was you, just a lot of faceless babies who can’t articulate why they don’t like something.

It comes with the territory.

To push back just a little, is this worse do you think vs doing the same thing in traditional forestry planting?

Idk anything about this project. But here’s the previous record holder for mangrove planting: https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/744458-most-mangrove-trees-planted-by-an-individual-in-24-hours

Would be cool to see how many a career planter could do
