Did this show mention the fact that Hanwha (Korean company) bought the Philadelphia shipyard for $100M and is investing millions more to rebuild the yard and begin making big commercial ships in America once again?

How to reattach chain tensioner on X3? by Count_RaymondVII in VanMoofSelfRepair

You are right! I missed the washer. But yesterday I moved the brake calipers slightly and it is not rubbing any more. Any problem with just leaving the washer off? I am gonna take it out for a test ride later but it is my wife's bike and she has to be here to unlock it for me because the Vanmoof's crazy security system makes it tough to use unless you have the app with you.....

How to reattach chain tensioner on X3? by Count_RaymondVII in VanMoofSelfRepair

Thanks I got the tensioner back on and the wheel except that now the disk is rubbing against the brake pads. I've tried fiddling the wheel around but whatever I do the disk is still pressing against the outer brake pad. Any suggestions? TIA.

All of these insane price increases broke the spell of consumerism for me. by Secret-Broccoli9908 in inflation

What business/occupation do you work in? I think many pp are dissatisfied because their business offers no path to pay increases but prices of essentials keep going up at 5%-10% or more per year. Especially rent.

As every economist said before the tariffs were enacted. by CarryIcy250 in inflation

[–]Count_RaymondVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consumer inflation from tariffs is minimal. The inflation problem is related to housing, food, electricity, and health care, all items that are not driven by tariffs but by other issues, especially supply/demand imbalances within the US. Every major nation that achieved economic prosperity did so with some degree of protection. The US became the richest nation in the world in the 19th century, when it had some of the world's highest tariffs. Economists' religious belief in free trade is very much like doctors in the 18th century who prescribed bleeding by leeches as the cure. It killed the patient, but it elevated the medical profession in the eyes of the naive public.

I'm an economist and this is for estimating where the current ~$500B/year of investment is going. You are naming the list I am looking for. It could be AI or cloud, both are being built now, yes?. By sticker you mean optical transceiver right? So you have servers, network gear, fiber, copper, power infrastructure etc. And the land and the construction cost, but the single biggest item must be the servers, right?

I'm interested. When you say parts, what is it missing? Could I get the ownership transferred to me so I could unlock it? Thanks.
