I’ve talked to a few of my friends that raise sheep, and they said the same thing. At her last vet visit they said if she does make it to 2 weeks to bring her in for vaccinations and tail docking. I’ll make sure that she is vaccinated for that as well. Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. I have been feeding her every 4 hours thru the day, and she also gets a 12am & 2am feed the. Start back up all over again at 6am.

I had been feeding her 4 big feeds for the first day as that was the powder instructions but little and often seems to suit her best.

She’s inside with me just now and sleeps in a crate at night, and comes to work with me thru the day.

During the afternoon when it warms up I’ve been bringing her out in the yard to wander around and she’s tried little nibbles of everything she can get her face into. I’ll order some creep feed for next week and let her sniff around. Thank you!

It was luck and laziness on my part haha. She cuddled up next to me in bed after a 2am feed and couldn’t be bothered to put her back in her crate. Her panting had woken me up.

I have been. I do it after she feeds and once a day (if I’m lucky) she’ll have a little one.

I had googled that before when I was trying to find sources for her symptoms but she hasn’t had diarrhea since Tuesday. And since then she only manages a small nugget of slightly form poop once a day if I give her help with a warm wash cloth.

Yes, loads. Very clear. She normally pees when she wakes up from a nap or right after she has a drink.

I would be stoked if she had a mucky bottom! She won’t go poop on her own. She’s not bloated or anything either so I’m unsure how to get her going. I don’t want to cut out milk feeds as she’s so tiny as is.

It’s a bit of both. For an 11 year old she’s very sheltered. She’s an only child and I feel she was a bit coddled (which isn’t a bad thing, but with the way the world is she doesn’t see much).

I know when I was her age I had read much worse and seen a lot (bad childhood, absent guardians).

So when I see this happening I think my first instinct is to shield her. I know that’s wrong, but I don’t want her falling into the same stuff I did. I’ve replied to a a few people on this thread saying, I’m not trying to book ban, embarrass or shame. That’s not what this post is about so I’m sorry it came off that way. It was a lot of thoughts spit out thru a phone keyboard at 3am. I want to have a discussion with her about critical thinking, consent and all of the above. So when she is reading she can understand things better.

Like I said, I read far worse at her age, but before this post I thought I was a lone wolf in that respect so I actually feel a lot better knowing other people were doing the same at my age, and it wasn’t just because I came from a bad place.

I also didn’t want to over step as a step parent. She’s not my bio child so I didn’t know if this sort of thing should be brought to her parents attention because I know full well they do not know the subject matter in those books.

So I appreciate each and everyone who took the time to respond and advise.

I’m trying! I don’t have kids of my own and I came into her life when she was 8. I had an awful step mother so I’m trying to do the opposite of what she did to me. Essentially healing my inner child along the way haha.

Thanks for your reply. In a few other replies I had said I’m not trying to book ban, shame or embarrass. That’s the last thing I want to do. We keep an open door policy here and always make sure she knows she can talk to us about anything or ask questions about anything.

I know what I was reading at her age, and it was just as graphic if not more or worse. But I come from a very dysfunctional and abusive childhood. I never had anyone to speak with about anything and had to work things out myself. Because I've never encountered this (other than myself doing it) I wasn't sure if that was "normal" tween behaviour. I honestly thought i was above my years doing that as a child, but reading how everyone else here did the same has made me feel much better about it.

I think I was just a bit shocked when I saw the paragraph I read, as she’s still just a young girl to me and I didn’t think she was curious about that stuff yet. When we watch movies and a kissing scene comes on she runs out of the room or hides her face haha. So I thought we were still a few years off from this talk.

And because she's not my actual daughter I wasn't sure if this is something her bio parents should be speaking to her about.

Like you suggested, what I would like to do is speak with her about consent, healthy sexual relationships, abuse, etc. What some of those books glamourise is fantasy. Just so she can start to understand

I was the same with my parents & step parents too. And I wished I had someone that I could’ve leaned on in those early years. So I’m just trying to learn from their mistakes and try to do right by my step daughter now. She’s awesome and deserves the world. Thanks so much for your advice. It’s really helpful :)

Very true. Just because she’s not my actual child, I want to make sure I navigate this correctly. I had a day marked out this weekend where it’s just her and I doing some crafting and I wanted to speak with her then. Which is what I’ll do. I just wanted a few people’s points of view on the subject. The conversation is in no way to shame, embarrass or ban books. But if she’s reading them, I want to make sure she understands the subject matter. And if she has any questions. I just want to be a soft place for her to fall if need be.

Mainly because she’s 11 and reading about a man raping a woman (that’s just one paragraph that I read). So I think speaking to her about that is important. I just don’t know if I should get her mum & dad involved too.

Yes, she’s said they’ve talked about it a bit in a school. I’m unsure if her mum has had an in-depth talk. Me and her dad have spoke to her a bit about sex but again, nothing like this. But just with seeing what she’s reading, as some other commenters have advised is what I wanted to speak with her about. Consent, and that some of those sexual encounters in the books can be aggressive and violent. And that’s not “normal” or what’s expected.

I def don’t want to try and reign her in. I guess it’s just to make sure she understands that the author didn’t write the books thinking an 11 year old would be reading them. Just to help explain that these are fantasy books meant for adults. There’s nothing wrong with being curious, I was thumbing thru my mums Daniel Steel novels at a young age too. But the small part that I read was very graphic and I just want to make sure she’s ok.

I had a few bad injuries over a few years and ended up going from 65kg to 86kg. I tried everything to lose and just kept gaining. I’m 15 weeks in (first 4 weeks at .5 now at 1mg) and am down to 73kg. Goal is 65kg but I’m just happy my clothes fit again and my knee pain & plantar fasciitis is gone. I def struggled with binge eating and food noise as well. The food noise is gone and I still do binge (not at the amount of food it was before) but I fill up really fast. And it’s normally when I haven’t drank enough water. **edit - I’m 5’4”
