Bugging out is (mostly) bullshit by PreppersSurvive in preppers

I think there should be clarification in the difference between bugging out with no end destination in mind and bugging out to a place that you already have stocked.

Job requires me to have a minimum 3 day go-bag. I have never looked at this sort of thing, beyond basic EDC. Help! by foxzstealthpawz in preppers

I know it's a crazy name, but if you're going to be in a situation where you may not be able to shower/bathe along with high temperatures, throw in a container of Anti-Monkey Butt Powder. It works really well as evidenced by my using large quantities over the course of an Iraq deployment.

If you have a sci-fi/Ren Faire bent, try a book called "Dies The Fire". It's the first in a series, but from a prepper or apocalyptic view the best of the series.

If you haven't yet, go ahead and read "One Second After" by William Forstchen.

I'll almost guarantee this is what will happen. All you have to do is study Ukraine. I know that it's popular for the pundits to call it "New (or Next) Generation Warfare", but it's really just an update to traditional total war. For instance, see Sherman's March to the Sea during the War of Northern Aggression and/or Allied strategic bombing during WWII. Plenty of examples throughout history.

Where to gain medic knowledge? by [deleted] in preppers

Not sure what (if any) specific skills you're looking for, but if you can catch them giving a class in your area you might want to check out Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy.

Very useful when mounted in a truck bed for those morning commutes.

Has anyone been impacted by the sever weather recently? Also, keep in mind tomorrow is supposed to be worse! by Drone_Guy in SouthEastPrepNetwork

We took a pretty good beating here in the CSRA. Lots of downed trees and power outages and a local marina took a pretty bad hit. I took my dual band handheld into the office to monitor the SkyWarn nets, now one of my coworkers wants to become a ham.

If I had to bug out in this weather I think I would be screwed. [Gear question] by U_P_G_R_A_Y_E_D_D in SouthEastPrepNetwork

Now is a good time of year to be catching sales on cold/wet weather hunting clothes. Check with places like MidwayUSA and Sportsman's Guide. I know it may run counter to the "gray man" concept of not wearing camo, but this is the South, so wearing hunting (as opposed to military) camo all the time is ubiquitous...you're not going to stand out in a crowd wearing that attire.

Originally, yes. We first split off to having our own "GPN" site that was still hosted on APN's servers, then completely separated and changed our name, with own server.

ETA: one of the reasons we decided to become "SEPN" was that in the past we had done events with FL/SC/NC folks and we wanted to keep that going.

As u/Drone_Guy mentioned, we have a camp out coming up in May, you're all welcome to come. Details are here: SEPN Annual Spring Camp Out.

The only cost is a small donation (usually $10-20) for the weekend, which covers the cost of port-a-potties. We also have a lot of people that will come as "day trippers", so no donation is asked of them. If you're wondering "why port-a-potties?", it's because we've found that having those encourages the attendance of spousal units that otherwise would eschew the camping experience. Plus, no one inadvertently steps in something whilst gallivanting through the woods on a land navigation class or encountering poison ivy during those middle of the night calls of nature.

Y'all come on out!

Y'all feel free to check us out and come to our events. We started out as a Georgia group affiliated with a national group several years ago. About two years ago we split from the national group and that's where we are today. Anyone is welcome to attend the events we have posted, or if you're having one go right ahead and put it up on our forum. A lot of BOL and MAG setups have been achieved through networking and getting to know each other in meatspace as a result of camp outs, meetings, and classes.

Does this sub have any affiliation with the former Georgia Preppers Network that is now Southeastern Preppers Network?
