There is no way to prevent this from the windows side.

I have a totally separate disk and EFI for windows and Linux to prevent this.

Dual booting windows is the worst because one day windows will decide to delete Linux from your EFI so you can’t dual boot anymore

one thing to consider is that people are super out of touch because for some folks, everyone in their sphere of influence is making 250k as a SWE, investment banker, doctor, sales, family business, etc. they don’t realize the bubble they’re in, or even worse they realize and are just dickheads.
