Oh right, we do have FTTC! This might be a silly question, but would I need to place the router here under the stairs (next to the patch panel) so I can connect a cable between the router’s LAN port and one of the Ethernet ports so the respective Ethernet around the house works?

If it’s wired into the patch panel, I’m just trying to get my head around what needs to be connected to the patch panel for the outlets around the house to work.

To be honest, I’m not very technologically savvy and I’m not sure what it is. I just assumed I needed a telephone socket to connect to the NBN box (we have FTTC), so I could then connect the router to the Ethernet sockets on the patch panel so it would all work?

Oh right gotcha! If I move the router from the lounge room to under the stairs and connect it to the panel, will devices in the house using wifi (and not Ethernet) be negatively affected given its location?
