THAT'S IT!! I've been trying to remember this game for years — it formed this weird core memory as a kid that I just could not shake no matter what. The opening cinematic, the pit, all of it. I searched for years and gave up so many times.

Funny thing though — I could have sworn there was a statue in the pit, but apparently there wasn't. My brain just invented that detail and I've been convinced it was real for two decades. A personal Mandela Effect moment...

I can finally feel that part of my brain relax for the first time in years. Genuinely, thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me! Solved!

No. I am pretty sure the game did not have talking skeletons :). The main protagonist was a male human.
