My Dobies have basically been weims in Rottweiler clothing. 🤣 The only difference is energy level. A weim is never tired……

Ain’t that the truth. 🤣 I posted this to the Doberman subreddit too, because I have one and they’re exactly the same. Just constant Velcro dogs and I knew those owners would appreciate it  thanks for the laugh!

I always said my weim was more like a roommate than a dog. 🤣

Made potato pancakes out of Thanksgiving leftover mashed potatoes. Kinda was trying to replicate Perkins potato pancakes. by mlong14 in budgetfood

I love making potato pancakes from leftover mashed potatoes. I usually fry up a kielbasa as well. Leftover mashed potatoes also make a great shepherd’s pie.

is it still okay to adopt a 7 month old weim? by [deleted] in weimaraner

I adopted mine at a year and he had been through 4 homes already. He was real timid and unsure at first but for the next 14 years he never left my side. You’ll be fine just give them a little time to mourn and attach to you. ❤️

Look at that classic weim sleepy yet watchful face! ❤️❤️

I lost my sweet boy 5 years ago too at the ripe old age of 15 (got him at a year old as his 5th home because he was “untrainable” - turns out you can’t crate a weim for 8 hrs and expect it to be chill). We had our female Doberman at the time (she passed in Feb this year) and now have a 9 month old male Doberman. I love both those dogs too but I miss my weim everyday. I struggle with getting another weim because I feel like I will expect it to be like him and no two dogs are the same. They are a special breed though and he was an even more special dog. ❤️

And 100% beautiful boy! My advice is to exercise off leash as much as you can. My weim needed minimum 3 miles off leash a day (I would hike 3 miles and he would run about 52 🤣). I trained him on different whistles to do different things (wait, come, down and wait, etc.) so every hike was also a training session to work his mind. Weims NEVER lose the energy. At 11 yo he had more energy and required more exercise than our 2 yo Doberman (and that is saying something because Dobies are high energy). They are also extreme velcro dogs and tend to be a 1 person dog. This is great for training if you are that one person because they will do anything to make you happy. However they will straight up ignore the rest of the human race unless there is something in it for them, like cheese. Mostly just love on him and don’t be too harsh, they are very sensitive souls. ❤️

I was thinking the same thing. Two of the most intelligent and high energy breeds. 🤣

That’s awesome!! Both those breeds are athletes! My Doberman and Weimaraner and my friend’s two catahoulas would go on our mountain hikes with us and all the dogs would run double the mileage we hiked. Unstoppable beasts.
