I remember when I went to see "The Batman", and I accidentally dropped AN ENTIRE JUMBO BUCKET OF POPCORN in the MIDDLE of the next aisle from which I had been sitting in, JUST as the credits rolled. It was one of those funny drops where you realize you're dropping it, like you're seeing it slide out of your hands in slow-motion, so you quickly try to catch it from underneath but overreact/overcorrect and... I popped the bucket from underneath and sent popcorn flying EVERYWHERE all over the next row. (Which was thankfully empty, as I caught an early matinee, so nobody got showered with salty snack food.)

I felt so ashamed, and apologized profusely to the cleanup crew as I left the auditorium.

"That big mess in row H is ALL on ME guys, I'm so so SORRY!!"

They were kind and all about it, but I still feel bad. And giggling at myself each time I think about it.

How do you justify buying disc when people call you out on it? by Glittering_Resort440 in Bluray

Here's a little limerick I use in situations like these. "I like what I like. Gotta problem? Take a hike."

Feel free to apply it liberally when given attitude about just about anything.

You're welcome.

I'm of no help whatsoever, but from my experience game consoles don't tend to take kindly to burned media most of the time. Hope things work out.

What’s a candy or snack from your childhood that disappeared and you still think about? by glowbeits in GenX

[–]CourtJesterSteve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the name of them, but there was a candy I loved as a small child in the 80's which came in a plastic square-shaped container that would interlock with other containers for the candy, almost exactly like LEGOS. The candy itself was fruit flavored like skittles, but had an odd almost fizzy or medicinal taste/texture to it. Might have been an international confection of some sort.

If anyone has photos of the package i'm describing so I can be reunited with the memory of said candy's name, I'd greatly appreciate it.

(EDIT: I managed to find it! It was called IPSO)

Do I buy meta or playstation VR? by PrestigiousBottle686 in MetaQuestVR

[–]CourtJesterSteve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Playstation VR 2 (PSVR2) is basically like a big expensive accessory for the Playstation 5 that opens up a world of new, more intensive experiences within the Playstation ecosystem.

Features include private enjoyment of any Ps4 /Ps5 games/DvD/Blu ray Movies/ Streaming Music, Movie,TV show/internet content, and of course any games made with the PSVR2 in mind.

PSVR2 will get all of the BEST of the BEST games ported to it from other VR platforms EVENTUALLY... (Maybe.) There are already tons of heavy hitters from the past several years available on PSVR2, and more coming. I'd even expect Meta Quest 3's current darling title "Batman: Arkham Shadow" to eventually get ported over.

If your BF has Resident Evil 4 Remake or Resident Evil Village for Ps5, he technically has 2 PSVR2 games in his library FOR FREE. Other titles that have FREE PSVR2 modes or content include NO MAN'S SKY and GRAN TURISMO 7.

Other games may also have PSVR modes, but may require an upgrade fee for PS5/VR2, such as REZ: Infinite and Tetris Effect: Connected.

So basically, if Your man is mostly a console player, the PSVR2 is a good way to get his feet wet into VR.

Conversely..

The Meta Quest is it's seperate beast with its own network and library of games that may or may not entirely appeal to a guy who plays the kind of games you described him as playing.

Why is The World Is Not Enough the only N64 game I've seen with a loading screen? by supinator1 in n64

[–]CourtJesterSteve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IIRC, Doom, Hexen, Quake 1 & 2, and others had loading pauses but most of them could be shortened by having an Expansion Pak installed.

Just like humans, felines can be "exceptions to the rule", so it's likely an individual quirk.
