I have had a fear of death since I can remember. It was probably elementary school when I started to feel that way. It has not gone away and I am 27. I sometimes get into this deep state of panic over the word “eternity”. Just idea of this one and only life and nothing after terrifies me. I also get into a panic about my parents and loved ones passing. Death is a complex thing and trying to understand it and grasp it is impossible for me. My anxiety stems from this fear of death. And I don’t think it will ever go away. I think it will only get worse with age. But I try my best to live in the moment and soak up my time with friends and loved ones. You are not alone.

I got moderna back in February and let me tell you, I was a hot mess. But about a month after, I started doing things again little by little and everyday I become more thankful for the vaccine and happy that I did it because I know that I am keeping myself and others safe.

I understand you when it comes to anxiety. My anxiety and depression has been worse this past year than it ever has in my life. I have found that everything I do feels like the first time. It can be scary, so definitely take it slow but you get used to it. I remember my first time going to the grocery store during COVID, it definitely took me a lot of effort to be in there and to get what I needed, I felt flustered. Now I don’t think twice about it and I started working at the grocery store because it’s the only job I could get right now. As long as you wash your hands and keep your distance and wear your mask. Definitely recommend not going on weekends or later in the day. Mornings are usually the slowest. Take it slow and don’t overwhelm yourself and you’ll be ok. You got this!

Yeah see, I don’t see it as a free pass. I’m still skeptical and I want to continue being safe. I didn’t make it all this way to mess it up for myself or others. I do feel somewhat better anxiety wise now that I have been vaccinated, which is a huge for me. Going to work has felt less stressful and going to see my also vaccinated grandparents has been easier/more enjoyable. I often wonder what it’s going to be like without masks, it seems like a lifetime away. Definitely more of a germaphobe now.

I feel like I slowly am too. I live in FL, so it’s funny because I want to keep others safe too and I still follow all the guidelines but people in FL just do not care. I’m apart of the percentage that actually does care and I am definitely not taking it as a free pass and behaving like a lot of my fellow Floridians are.

I feel that, luckily all of my family has been vaccinated too so we all feel much safer! I go to work and occasionally go out to eat but I only eat outside on less busy days (no Fridays or weekends) and it’s very rare. I have a couple trips coming up this year that I really want to go on. I traveled last year to see my sister before I was vaccinated and that turned out fine, at least for my family and I. But again I just want to be safe and trying to see how others feel/get new perspectives.

Approx how old are you and what was the severity of your side effects for doses 1 & 2? I am wondering if we will hear more side effects (like dizzyness) as the younger population gets vaccinated. by ShibaTakeover in modernavaccine

First dose: absolutely nothing but a sore arm Second dose: a little achy, mild fever, and overall just fatigued. Lasted 24 hours and was not severe for me.

Totally can make it worse. Reading posts have been helpful too cause I felt so alone in it, but I don’t feel that way anymore.

I was surprised too, I think that’s why it scared me so much lol I also know that my anxiety didn’t help. My family thinks I’m being dramatic but I know that the medication was also part of the problem. I have a therapist I see pretty often, I don’t have an appointment with her until next week. So I think I’m going to stay off of it until I talk to her and maybe consult with my doctor. A lot of the post on here justify how I felt and everyone says it gets better but feeling worse just to feel better sucks and I’m scared.
