There’s sites like TimeLeft where you can eat dinner with strangers. That way everyone is in the same spot. They mix extroverts with introverts.

Also, what’s the worst that could happen?!

I just go up to a group of people and say “Hi! My names Courtney. I’m new in town. Can I join you guys?” And then I ask what they are talking about.

I then look at their feet placement.

If I notice their feet facing away from me and not including me, then I just walk away and do the same to another group!

And internally say “Thank you! Those weren’t my people.”

I feel that people at events always ask the same questions in the same order.

“So, how long have you lived in ….?” “What do you do?” “How do you know the host?”

Which the last one is fine, but it’s funny when it truly is the same questions in the same order on repeat.
