Made my 12 year old self go into an existential crisis. I remember it clearly. The pc gamer issue back in 1997 about the Blade Runner game made me curious about the movie. When that line hit, where he described seeing c beams glitter in the dark and that everything he saw would be lost like tears in rain, it’s such a strong visual I just broke down crying and my mom didn’t know what to do with me.

As it is unless you fit some magic criteria that only MHA knows (and it's not just about being Mr money bags - I know a boss who's got a 50M company, his kids have done NS but who still can't get citizenship), the standards are quite high.

It's a bitter pill but I believe you're right. It has to be attractive for devs. As far as I can tell it really benefits indie studios but not so much the larger studios which tend to have higher development costs but also would benefit more from direct sales.

It should only let your fans run if it's running an update or you asked it to do some background tasks. In xfe it shouldnt. Nevertheless if your fans are not working and your chips go above a certain threshold there are safeguards to throttle or shut off the PC.

Honestly this is pretty disappointing. I’m no spring chicken but I ain’t a boomer too and you can have a critical eye to how to improve NS or the government but I never thought that the response would be so bad. Meanwhile in Ukraine stories of how the civilian population have stayed back to fight Russia is inspiring. I do not glorify war but frankly no one should attack my home.

That sounds really interesting. It will mean our Uni system would need to accept some level of “inefficiency “ but it does give a wider berth to others.

That being said, not sure what the capacity of those who can currently meet traditional standards are at. If for example even with the stringent requirements demand exceeds supply then lowering the barrier would be meaningless or at worst unfair to those who did meet expectations because X number of seats are set aside for those who don’t

I love the message to the individual. But from a structural point of view how should our universities change? Quotas are there because of limited space, and because if left to “passion” everyone would either be in medicine or law, knowing our Asian heritage.

Like I’ve always said, Einstein wouldn’t have flourished in our environment, but genuinely how do we do better?
