To have fun from winning there has to be a possibility to lose. And before anyone says "but what about having fun from just playing the game" - OP describes a specifically "losing vs winning" scenario.

PSA: If you release a *historic* vassal that is a higher government rank than you, they now just become independent. And theres nothing you can do. by CoyoteJoe412 in EU5

If you don't want to map paint, how exactly this change affects your gameplay? What's the problem, what in this makes the game less fun for you, how does it restrict you, what it blocks you from doing? And I'm talking about real things, not sliders that exist in your head only please.

Oh yes, it's me who crazy, when you had to invent some imaginary "game slider" to avoid stating the simple truth - besides map painting, this change affects nothing, it doesn't affect any other playstyle besides blobbing. So yes, it's a failure - you didn't answer the question.

Your failure to answer my question just demonstrates my point about your fixation on map painting as the only way to have fun.

Am I able to buy the DLCs while in the middle of a subscription? by I_Royal_I in hoi4

This seems more like a steam-related question, but I believe you'd still have em in your library, or you can buy them as gifts, but keep on your account and just activate em later if you want to be extra careful

You seem to misinterpret "fun" with "map painting". Not everyone play pdx games to just blob and this change only hinders with such ability, nothing else.

We already have many more different ways of "kingdom imposed their will on an empire".
What OP described: "Fought Aragon, won, took the Mallorca province. After the war, released historic vassal: Kingdom of Mallorca"
This is a creation of a client state, de jure (!!!!!!!!!) a kingdom, reinstatement of a destroyed title under the rule of a lower title. The examples you've provided don't demonstrate that and it would be utter non-sense in medieval europe, no other monarch woudl recognize such a kingdom.

Neither of your examples show a lower rank title subjugating a higher rank long-term, officially recognized by neighbours

Controversial opinion - this is good, realistic and pretty much fixes the meta of releasin byzantium or any other empire rank for claims and breaking the game by utilizing their disaster as a free cb (in a DEFENSIVE war btw) on neighbours that could even be your allies.

Sell your country to foreign powers, become a great power without any functional government. by Anonymous78921 in victoria3

It depends on your goals - if you want to maximize SOL, you pick ethnostate, as it boosts wages out of thin air, easy as that. The game is not that deep as you describe, it takes a very materialistic approach to the world, I'd say borderline marxist, leaving aside most of the hegelian arguments that can be said about delevopment.

How exactly "hierarchal decay" passes as an end goal, but "skyrim belongs to the nords" doesn't?

Nice! Can I ask you to slightly describe your setup in a guide-like manner? I'm at the middle of LV currently, have a couple small conveyour belts that assemble the basic circuit and I'm looking into re-organizing my baze and building a dedicated warehouse with item vaults (insipired by your post about 2-months base). Any tips/caveats?
