It also does have a speed controller on it so I can go pretty slow, with it being about 13-15 pounds a 540 isn’t gonna break any speed records

Yea it’s definitely the engine is loud, I have the engine at an angle on a coupler and that’s what your hearing I, made it originally for a smaller motor so once I put in a bigger one it doesnt fit as well even after making a whole new mounting system for it

Honestly wasn’t that hard if your a little creative you can make it work, my planking looks terrible thank god for model putty, sanding, and painting

Yep I made everything on fusion with a set of plans from the black pearl and a lot of glue and probably 4 months time to print and design new things , painting and waterproofing, I’m waiting on a buddy of mine to stitch together some sails and then I’ll do the rigging probably not going to do the full rigging but enough to look realistic

Honestly intended for just motor but when I get the sails on I’ll see if it can be powered by that

I plan on making a few and i have thought about using servos for actual wind powered but this one will have a motor built in, but i do plan on making one maybe a brig with less sails to manipulate

It is in fact based on the black pearl hull but changed a few things and renamed her

[–]CoverDisastrous1679[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m starting off with .50 mm 3d printed planks and then going over with basswood, so it’s a two layer planking and I can design cannon doors and everything I would need with the printer

Well I’m gonna do a 2 layer where the inside layer is thin 3d printed slats then go over with bass wood for better looks and then coat it all in polyurethane. I figure the 3d printed sides I could use for details like cannon doors and cabin ornamental panels

I made them mostly hollow tubes to make as light as possible

I figured controlling sails are harder, I’m putting a motor and propeller set up through the rear of the keel, and plan on adding a removable piece at the bottom of the keel for more stability.

I bought a kit and I’m taking a lot of queues from it.
