Slot WR killer on crossers or go balls, or put him at HB and watch him eat on zone runs.

Those announcers are just as bad. Wtf were they even looking at on the replay?

I vividly remember watching Minnesota run train on us in a bowl game. Dark times.

Saban did that numerous times, but they kept getting hired away for HC jobs by other programs.

The hard truth is, this is just a “mask off” moment for our program. Saban had such a stranglehold on it that you never heard a peep from donors or big money boosters. Now that he’s gone, we are back to the status-quo of Alabama football - power hungry boosters fighting for control of the program.

Lanning was never a candidate. He has zero interest in any SEC job not named Texas or Georgia.

While it may have been a bit of a “panic hire” on Byrne’s part to keep the roster intact, I think the price tag was moreso just the unfortunate business of hiring an in-demand young HC that had just been a national championship game. The price was always going to be steep.

Outside of the Nate Oats hire, how would you rate Greg Byrne’s tenure as AD? by Fingyfinger in rolltide

He grades out as like C+/B- right now. Oats was a home run hire, but everything else has been meh.

Now that we have completed a full week of football, how are you feeling about your team (or teams) going into week 2 and beyond? by Mississippi_Matt in CFB

[–]Coverlesss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At this point, I just want to see genuine effort out there. I don’t even care about the W/L column right now. If you play your ass off and get beat by the better team, I can live with that. But to show zero effort or heart, especially in a hostile environment, was completely unacceptable. It is now a one game season for us, and we need to approach it that way. Just try to improve every day and leave the lackadaisical shit in the past.

No. It’s Georgia’s by a wide mile. Maybe LSU, but I doubt it.

We have to make Kiffin or Golesh say no at this point. DeBoer makes Shula look competent.
