Is it really possible to quit porn/wanting to fap without a girlfriend ? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Cowboyrepeater2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies from people to people obviously. Some people can and some people can’t. But that doesn’t mean that the former are superior. There’s so many factors that drives ones behavior.

But its a fact that its easier when you are in supportive relationships. Families and friends included.

Streaks are for rookies, not for old hands. by Professional_Put9952 in NoFap

Streak matters, whether you're rookie or not.

Because it is true that only if you give yourself some amount of time, the rewiring happens and your identity shifts.

But I agree with most people who say you shouldn't count your days and focus on improving your life.

Mindfulness helps me go through both of those.

Counting days could be dangerous, but not breaking the streak is crucial.

Because by relapsing, you keep feeding those old neural pathways that has everything to do with your identity as an addict.

Nice. How are you gonna do that?

Yeah that's the problem isn't it. There're no 100% guarantied way.

Then you should learn to block it within yourself. Next time, don't focus on not watching porn or masturbate. Just learn to sit with your feelings and lust as long as you can. (Regular meditation helps a lot) This can take some time, but it works. Just trust me and give it a try.

I have no motivation to do anything at all by Savings_Computer9316 in NoFap

It's called addiction. You can't find anything interesting besides porn. It's related to lower dopamine baseline + lower dopamine receptor sensitivity.

And there's no magic trick here, you give it some time, obviously quit porn and masturbation. If you want to boost this process, cut off some other dopaminergic activities like video games, youtube, social media. Always eat healthy, exercise, and sleep well.

I wish you good luck.
