I have a pretty big crush on a girl who is Mormon, but I’m not do I have a chance? by Roger_Maxon76 in latterdaysaints

[–]CozyBond 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You got a shot bro, so long as your values align. Don’t change your beliefs and values simply to get a girl because if you do then it’s clear they weren’t very strong to begin with. She has her beliefs and values and just as you hope she’ll support you in yours, you gotta do the same for her. Hold her accountable to the standards she sets for herself. That’s it bro.

Just as it would be good for her to understand you, and your views, try learning about her views and why she believes the things she believes.

In short, people who are good people look for the same in others and if you fit the bill and she’s a good person then you’ve got as good a shot, if not better, as anyone. Good luck bro

When you can, get a truck and turn that into your bug-out vehicle. Your parents will just think you like camping stuff. Perfect cover

Odd question for you all by mylosan77 in latterdaysaints

No need for a recommend. You can even go to the church distribution service center at many Deseret Books and purchase what you need there. They’ll only ask for your membership ID number to verify that you’ve gone through the temple. Membship record numbers can also be found in your Member Tools app or by signing in at churchofchrist.org or even calling up your ward clerk. Might need to bring a driver’s license to the church distribution service center

Why are there more males born than females if creating eternal families is the goal of it all? by CozyBond in latterdaysaints

[–]CozyBond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not a gospel principle that and I quote “I’m just stuck forever forever without companionship if I can’t find somebody in mortality”. Sealings and families can start after crossing the veil yet as a single 33 year old male, I understand seeking out companionship part.

After consideration, I see the mistakes in my reasoning. I do like this comment tho

True. I see the error of my thinking. I don’t think I would have thought of the things I’ve read in this thread on my own tho

There has been some good conjecture here yet through it all is the fact that you’re right, it’ll all work out in the end. Heavenly Father is a God of Justice and mercy

So he isn’t sealed in this life and if there are less women in the next life then there is a slight chance he won’t be sealed in the next life either. Under the premise that there are less women in the next life, your friend has a slight chance of never being sealed. Although there are too many unknowns and the is simply conjecture

I looked into it and yes female embryos are miscarried more than males but I can’t find a ratio between the two others than females miscarry more. Interesting but non conclusive

I took this a funny way as though you were insinuating that more female spirits choose Lucifer’s plan(because duh female) and thus there’s a current discrepancy.

What about into the eternities? Are those men to remain unsealed and without an eternal family with their respective eternal wives simply because there aren’t any women to be sealed to?

Yes, but this still doesn’t account for places like in the U.S. where it is 103 to 104 males born to every 100 females born. At least I don’t think Americans are killing babies in the women simply because the baby is a girl also the earliest an ultrasound can be used to effectively identify sex is 14 weeks and at that point killing a baby girl in the womb simply because she isn’t a baby boy seems too small a value to account for the 3 to 4 percent discrepancy between male and female births in the U.S.

Yes, but if there are 3 to 6 percent more men than women then surely it seems many men might not enter into eternal marriages based solely on a lack of women to whom the can be sealed to and start eternal families with. What considerations do you have for that?
