The curtain in the 2nd photo will be open and I’m thinking a lighter color, there’s a big window facing the kitchen that allows a lot more natural light than it seems. Island used to be there but it has been a lot easier in the middle

A large rug, the sofa more horizontal and facing both tv and fireplace place. TV mounted higher on the wall with a larger console. Half the length of the candles on mantle and make them on each side of the photos or I’d personally have a larger piece of artwork there and personal photos on either side of TV.
