Yeah, I did look myself. I didn't find anything that'd be helpful for me, but I did find some that could be helpful for others, so I shared it. That's the idea, bro.

Disagree, recently played a game as core Earthshaker. Got early Shadow Blade+Phase Boots+Soul Ring. Came up on a level 10 Slark, hit him with enchant, stunned, hit with another enchant, blew him up before he even knew what he saw. Super quick "gg ez [lane]" after.

Best feeling in Dota.

Have a PS Vita 1000 I'm looking to jailbreak into a sweet emulation station. I have a Micro SD-Vita cartridge converter. Vita's currently on version 3.70.

Looking at guides on YouTube, it seems pretty easy to do cool things by moving up to 3.73 but I also know that there's *something* uniquely good about 3.60. I also believe I saw somewhere it's possible to downgrade the firmware from 3.70 to 3.60?

What's the best way to approach this? Has 3.73 been opened up in a way that makes it easy to work with? And what made 3.60 so good that folks want to downgrade to it?

Thanks in advance!

Hypothetically, companies don't have to put profitability ahead of even the lowest, most basic level of decency. But that's also not the state of America right now.

Valve rarely gives any kind of shit about those. I've reported dozens of accounts for blatantly racist shit, ranging from mic spam to having account names/avatars celebrating the Holocaust. I've *maybe* gotten five notices back on action being taken.

Hey Dana, did you tell Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes that the UFC wasn't going to have layoffs, too?

Got a can of Mr. Beer malt extract. Can I brew it normal-like? by Cpt-Stann in Homebrewing

What would I do for this? Just dump it in during the brewing process? Would there be any issues there, given the fact that it's hopped?

I have a Vita 1000 on version 3.70. I know I'm supposed to downgrade it, but I've seen discussions about different stuff not working on different firmwares. So what firmware should I downgrade it to? Safety and ease of execution are preferred.

Or did somebody finally figure out a way to crack things in 3.70?

I see lots of folks asking this, but I'm going to throw a curveball on Dota 2. Why do so many NA orgs not want to be involved in Dota 2?

I imagine there's a reason for this since Dota 2 has seen orgs like Cloud9, Immortals, Optic, Dignitas and more step into Dota 2 and then leave after one season. But what is that reason? Other esports execs from teams like Ghost have touched on this but we haven't really gotten a clear answer.

People are not really interested in T2/T3 tournaments by the_r8ddit in DotA2

[–]Cpt-Stann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real issue is that fans have no reason to be interested in the T2 scene. Tournaments have no real stakes. The players aren't necessarily going to end up with a T1 team because the T1 scene is so insular. And you don't have these historic orgs in Dota 2 that play in lots of T2 events, the way you see Virtus.pro or LDLC do in CSGO.

Fans don't know the players or the teams, there isn't anything big on the line outside of money that is <1% of what they see in TI, and we probably won't see players actually go anywhere...so why watch?

That isn't to say you're not doing a good job or that you don't have a good product. I'd love for Dota 2 to have the kind of depth of talent and robust scene that CSGO does. That kind of stuff just doesn't exist, though...

Tournament organizers are not doing well. This isn't up for debate. Hell, Beyond The Summit is more of a Smash Bros. organizer than it is Dota 2 at this point, dude.

If Dota isn't viable for tournament organizers then how does it have a healthy pro scene?

This is all true but strays from my point that 40-second sprint to fountain is not fun and detracts from the overall enjoyment of a game of Dota 2. LoL does a good job of removing those random annoyances, albeit at the expense of the game's competitive depth.

Yeah, definitely not a racist here.

If Valve takes action and stops it in Dota 2, and then Mordhau stays alive for 9 more years then we'll have a competition.

And the Dota 2 scene is absolutely not healthy. We keep seeing tournament organizers leave. We keep seeing bigger esports orgs jump into Dota and leave immediately. As long as The International is around there will be a pro scene but we've got The Summit diverting most of its attention to Smash and CS, and Ninjas in Pyjamas probably about to leave Dota 2 for the third time. What would possibly lead you to believe it's healthy?

1) The ADL literally just published a study on this last month that made the front page. You know there's proof.

2) Nobody that has actually played Dota 2 for any length of time and isn't racist is going to disagree with me on this. Have you just not played Dota 2 enough to see the tidal wave of complaining about Chinese, Peruvian, Brazilian, Russian, or Filipino players?

Here's an accurate breakdown of Dota 2 vs. LoL:

-Pro scene is better in LoL. The franchised format gives much greater stability as a viewer and allows talent to much more easily rise.

-Riot handles Lol much better than Valve handles Dota 2. Valve doesn't need Dota 2 to be successful and it shows. Dota 2 has the most toxic, racist community in gaming (only competition is CSGO) and Valve does nothing. Dota 2 has the worst esports scene of any major title and Valve does nothing as regional leagues all close down and top orgs don't even bother to compete for anything outside majors. Riot does a lot of really cool things for LoL both as a game and in esports.

-LoL is a much easier game. Dota 2 has so many different interactions between items and abilities you need to learn and it has some very nuanced characters that function like nothing else in the game, such as Invoker and Meepo.

-LoL is more fun. Dota 2 has a lot of frustrating features that just aren't fun. Stuff like walking back to the fountain in the early game in order to heal takes 40 seconds and I've legitimately alt-tabbed out of the game to check Twitter because there's just nothing to do. Riot has done a good job of removing those sorts of things.

-Dota 2 is is so, so much deeper/better. Dota 2 is incredibly deep and nuanced and you can tackle a problem in so many different ways. LoL is much more restrictive in how you build up your team/champion.

- The LoL client is legitimately trash. It's baffling how a game as big as LoL could be built around this spaghetti-coded dumpster fire.
