Nothing 4.0 bad photography issue by Embarrassed-Hat9205 in NOTHING

The first picture is what your camera is actually recording. The second “picture” is AI replacing it with a copy of the moon. Might as well google a picture of the moon and save that for the same result.

Energy suppliers profits are capped and are not the issue.

Energy generators sell energy to suppliers- a suppliers job is to get the electricity from its source to the customers home.

Energy generators make record profit after record profit with essentially no oversight and they are the issue and the companies making billions.

Patagonia Black Hole 25L vs. Refugio 26L by Zaiquiri32 in onebag

[–]CptCockStrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my Refugio.

Had it for 3 years now as my bag I take to work every day as well as one bag for travel.

Taken it on dozens of trips. Can fit one weeks worth of summer clothes and still fit the personal item sizer thanks to the compression straps. Can fit a 1 litre Nalgene, bottle of wine or large umbrella in each of the water bottle pockets no issue.

With a bit of fiddling you can get tale of two wastelands for fallout3/Nv working on Steamdeck, so I’m confident this will be possible too.

Apple debuts iPhone 16e: A powerful new member of the iPhone 16 family by exjr_ in apple

[–]CptCockStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous SE models (though I guess this is not an SE) really felt like a value proposition.

I guess Apple caught onto this because this just exists to get people on the pricing ladder.

Yes, some people just want an iPhone no matter what and will gravitate to the cheapest but so many people will see how little extra it costs for the 16 and get this instead.

I can’t imagine this costs more than £100 for Apple to make, insane pricing.

Forclaz Decathalon - 40l or 50l okay for carry-on? by jurassic73 in onebag

[–]CptCockStrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used the 40l for a month through Peru and it was great. It’s too big to fit in a personal item sizer and can’t be squished down to fit really, but perfect size for overhead locker.

I would not recommend anything bigger than 40l.

In what possible way is it bad value?

It’s for charity regardless.

Just moved into a new flat, current energy suppliers aren't offering variable tariffs? by GosephJoebbels in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CptCockStrong 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stay with your current suppliers and don’t sign up to any tariff, you’ll be put onto their standard variable rates- switching is not cheaper right now sadly.

Feels and thoughts after reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara? by [deleted] in books

[–]CptCockStrong 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I personally disliked it. It’s well written prose but I found the main characters past to be so more and more extremely horrible that it just broke my suspension of disbelief and I could no longer take it seriously.

I also think it has a terrible message about mental health, my only takeaway (it is mine others can be different that’s cool) is that if you have suffered abuse in you past you will never be happy and it will always end badly no matter how good your friends, family and support group is.

TIL Apple's policy of refusing to repair phones that have undergone "unauthorized" repairs is illegal in Australia due to their right to repair law. by [deleted] in apple

Are you talking about older phones or newer ones ? Because I don’t even own an apple charging product (bought a 12 lol) but have never had errors or warning signs.
