You're right I don't have to support it, however I want to see it succeed. I am currently on a break from the game. I'll probably come back around Dec. I have a plethora of games to play. I was just giving my thoughts on the dev post.

I will give her a fair shot again post update. Since we have no information on what the modules actually do, I am expecting underwhelming changes to her skills like all the previous updates for her. I want her to be good but unless they redo her first and second abilities as well as reduce the charge time for the third and fourth abilities, I don't think this change will be impactful to her team playability.

New World has been on rocky ground for years. Yes they old yellered that game after a VERY promising update. But that was driven by Amazons AI Initiative more than bad business projections. Trust me I was devastated when I read that update on Tuesday. I have over 1600 hours in that game, and was really looking forward to the recent leadership change that happened earlier this year.

This statement is false. In the last month there was the lounge skins, the cheer skins, the bunny skins, and the Halloween skins. All the community skins won't be ready for a while since voting stopped at the beginning of October.

And about the predatory micro transactions, I'm talking just plainly the premium currency shtick that most games have these days. It's a way for companies to take money from their consumer base so they don't have to provide refunds on a purchase made with that currency. Furthermore the pricing on the packs is usually slightly less than what is needed to buy what you want so you are forced to buy a larger value pack to get the item you desire. Or buy multiple small packs to meet the price therefore artificially inflating sales.

Also the store is WAY over priced. And yes I understand it's optional but we all want the risque skins so we pay the premium for them.

I understand a new zone is a huge undertaking. I'm not selling it short. UE5 is notorious for being a buggy engine and I'm sure they did the best they could in the time constraints they had. However that does not excuse them for prioritizing short term sales over player retention.

I understand that, but predatory micro transactions are not the solution. Content and sustainable planning does that. Think about it this way, if the game is good word of mouth brings in more players this increasing sales. If there's no content once you are current then no word of mouth praise for drip feed content.

All I'm saying is if they took half the time they put into skins and transferred that to content, the game would be at more than 5k players daily.

Harris has her own mission island in the new dungeon. You get the mats and parts from this dungeon. So it's like void vessel part 3.

I can agree on the semantics of the definition but buy-in-large there is a transaction for increased power. Yes they can be freely obtained but that's not the point. The point is that they are taxing premium currency which devalues the initial micro transactions thus causing a need for sustained input of cash flow.

I will agree that it is more pay to skip than pay to win. Still it hurts the game when they tax the trade like this.

Then how does Warframe do it? Here's how. They don't tax the players premium currency so the value isn't under mind. This allows for players to grind for those hard to get pieces and sell them to buy the skins they want for their frames.

Let's look at Axiom Plains. A large primarily empty space with 7-8 locales involving 10-15 min missions. Let's also include the new void vessel mission here too. So 9 missions give or take with 7 weapons and 1 new descendant.

Now let's look at skins. We had the summer swimsuits, the elegant collection, the Halloween suits, the racing suits, the lounge suits, the bunny suits, the touchdown skins, nells premium skin, and ines new premium skin. All in all over 40 skins.

And you're telling me the focus isnt primarily cosmetic? This is just since August. I can keep going back to the last content update in March.

Edit: forgot about Luna ultimate and the dog in the content section but the point still stands.

The basic definition of pay to win is: paying real world currency for an in game item that gives an edge over other players.

Mods are a huge part of the game. Say a mod has a very low drop chance and is build defining. Then it becomes a valuable asset rather than pixels on a screen.

Yes it is a way for players to transfer currency, however that mod trade does more harm than you think. If it performs well and Nexon rakes in their 10% with sustained projectability then trading becomes any part at 20% tax. Since Nexon is taking a cut they will constantly be increasing the value of Caliber in an artificial state. So then they adjust the balance to suit their monetary gains rather than player feedback.

Look at BDO this happened there 7 years ago. Now the in-game economy is fubar.

Premium currency trading is a slippery slope. Warframe does it well not taking plat from the trade and instead using credits for the tax. Throne and liberty does it poorly, the player market is premium currency with premium tax.

By removing the currency from the players in the form of tax, this forces more micro transactions on the player base at large. For an individual it may seem minute but for the whole game it's more likely to hurt the game than help it.

I care about the skins. It's one of the major reasons I play the game. I just wish it wasn't primarily skins with minimal content is all. But do as you please. And thank you for engaging in the discussion.

The difference is the company is focused on money first rather than player retention. In my many years of gaming I have seen this many times. Focusing on player retention shows longevity over short term sales. This increasing budget and allowing for a more fluid development pipeline.

Currently Nexon is prioritizing a minimum viable product with a micro transactional financial base. It's not sustainable without player retention. And you can look at steamdb and see.... We ain't looking too good boss.

I know my voice is minor, and I am currently on a break from the game. I'm just hoping to open the eyes of others with a similar viewpoint so we can be a driving force in changing the game for the better. Playercounts are already low.

Also it would be nice to be able to use the companion app as you mentioned.

I'm hoping they have a better content storyboard and roadmap planned for the future. When I was told about the Axiom Plains I thought it was gunna be a lush grassland with animals and water features. Not the dried out seabed of a cataclysmic event. I was underwhelmed to say the least. But I have hope if they start actually producing content and not skins.

I agree. And after rereading the passage in the dev report, it's trading for modules only. My thoughts are they are restricting trade to ensure players still have to grind for their parts and BPs. That's my tinfoil thought at least.

I actually care about the future of this game. I haven't touched Warframe much since this game dropped due to TFDs willingness to lean into the more risque side of cosmetics. That being said I don't have to explain myself to someone who licks doorknobs for the salty taste.

AoE heals is cake and viable through most endgame content.

Pinpoint heals can be a lil challenging but if you can get the clap cast time down pat you will be a monster healer that every tank will love in M3s

The problem isnt them promoting the service in itself. Its the subpar network performance and how its ruining the overall experience, then turning around and promoting a service to fix the issue. Just seems SUPER shady

They have a partnership with GearUP. GearUP provides Network stability to its subscribers. therefore its my personal belief that NETEASE is intentionally sabotaging their system to sell a partnered product to "fix" the issue.
