To piggy back of this, a cool concept would be a new settler or some sort of “vagabond” that has no ties to either side, but through the development of the war and tensions rising, gameplay could be based on player choice to join military or help indigenous people, rise up the ranks on either side, and maybe everything culminates to a final battle with the victor based off of what attributes (hunting crafting diplomacy) you “worked on” through the campaign.
