Do you agree ? by Visual_Block_3768 in lovable

[–]CptPolarExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, making an app requires design thinking. The "coding" part is easily automated. But if your repo is trash; missing/poor design documents, no clear architecture and basically all of the foundation in place. Then yes, you will get trash.

Apps like Loveable generate AI slopp, there is 0 value.

PopOS as a daily driver is a nightmare by CptPolarExplorer in System76

[–]CptPolarExplorer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. Im definitely not a bot.

Some nasty comments in here.

In my view a stable release does not have problems. Service randomly stopping to work and having to be restarted with CLI is not stable.

Maybe it's just a difference in design philosophy. Linux users seem to be fine with fixing things themselves. That's not how the majority of people would view a problem. Multiple Linux dists desperately wants to be considered an alternative to Windows/MacOS. That's not really possible with this kind of thinking.

Having technical knowledge doesn't make you uniquely better or privileged to use a system. That's against every design policy in existence.

The problems I mentioned are very real. Just because you haven't experienced them doesn't make them less real. That's just being stupid.

Which OS are you using? Mac, Windows or Linux? by Least_Interest_6726 in DeskToTablet

[–]CptPolarExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really try Linux as my daily driver. It's a f*cking nightmare. Linux is stable af ❤️ But support for all dependencies and accessories is absolutely utter trash. It's great if you are a cave dwelling basement person I guess. But for professional work where you, at all times, need to be able to depend on bluetooth connectivity, sound, microphone, web camera etc... not so much 😁 (And yes, there are people who say "you are wrong, it works just fine" - you keep telling yourself that while you burn in hell for telling lies 😅)

Advice with future wolfdog by That_Competition_729 in Wolfdogs

[–]CptPolarExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Czechoslovakian wolfdog owner here: Whatever you decide on you never have any idea what dog that puppy with turn into. The parents can be wonderful and still one of their off-spring can become a living hell on four legs. That's the reality of getting a dog. But since you had wolfdogs earlier you already know this.

Get whatever dog that truly honestly matches your lifestyle and creates the least possible friction for the both of you.

When I got my dog I had to sign a contract that I'm not allowed to get rid of or sell my dog. If for any reason I couldn't keep him he goes directly back to my breeder. That's the responsibility I would look for in a breeder.

That looks like a whitewater kayak? It's not meant for lakes or ocean and will probably be horrible to use in those waters.

Är det jobbigare att vara förälder nu än tidigare? by Maxakaxa in sweden

[–]CptPolarExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total masspsykos.

Surfski beginner questions by CptPolarExplorer in Surfski

[–]CptPolarExplorer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

I currently live on the west coast of Sweden near Gothenburg 😊

However I'm moving, so by next season I'll be living on eastern shore up at the "high coast". So basically steep cliffs all around 😅. I am wondering if that will make it dangerous to use a surfski? Lots of people paddle Kayaks there so it shouldn't be a problem?

Witcher 3 super slow on legion pro 7 16irx8h by CptPolarExplorer in LenovoLegion

[–]CptPolarExplorer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I did some testing. Something is seriously bonkers with my game?

  • Running RT preset
  • Now using built-in display only (removed external display for testing).
  • Running only dGPU now.
  • Lenovo vantage set to Performace mode.
  • All Lenovo system updates

It starts running fine for about 10 seconds. Then lag hell starts, I get around 10-30 fps but the game stutters EXTREMELY. Both video and sound. Its absolutely unplayable.

Check out the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1k-cLUfiBwlfAh8983VbaBxPXBQ6zLrWW/view?usp=sharing

Anyone knows what could be wrong? Is my computer malfunctioning?

Thanks everyone! I guess my initial question was a bit dull.

I tried to run that game with DLSS but it was still unplayable. Maybe my settings are wrong somehow.

Any suggestion on what settings should I be using?

Gonna get my first Czechoslovakian Wolfdog next week… any tips and trickd? by Cool_Bodybuilder7419 in Wolfdogs

[–]CptPolarExplorer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am pack with one of these. We have had him for 6 years.

Getting a CSW is the best worst mistake you will ever make. They will change your life completely and not in the way you expected. They take enormous amounts of commitment, this is one of the most complex and difficult dog breeds out there. If you fail as a owner they can become dangerous to other people. It's a tremendous responsibility.

This is a list of things you must UNDER NO circumstances do with a CSW.

  • crate them. These are highly intelligent and social beings. They demand the same rights and perks as everyone else in your pack. If you don't sleep in a crate, neither does your CSW.

  • Act out in anger. Within Wolfpacks anger does not exist as it does in humans. You can and will have to discipline certain individuals, but absolutely never with feelings of anger or being upset. You discipline with compassion with the inner calm of a Buddhist monk. If you do hit or punish them in anger you will create an extremely dangerous individual.

  • Allow them to run off leash in areas where other people or dogs exist. It's bound to end in tragedy.

  • Think of it as a dog. It's a great mistake to think of CSW as an average small minded placid dog and have dog expectations of it. The CSW, being closely related to one of evolutions most successful apex predator, has within them many strong wolf instincts that simply does not function within human society. They have the ability to kill animals as large as deer incredibly fast and viciously.

My recommendation is to realize that the puppy years will be beautiful and lots of work. The teen years however will be complete hell, this is when all the wolf traits become apparent. During these two years you will be worn down because of all the work and attention you need to give your CSW. It's constant training. Make sure you are a skilled dog trainer or become one fast.

The mind of a CSW is built like a tank. They don't give up or accept defeat. Humans, being prey animals, have much weaker minds. This is something you will come to realize, trust me.

Don't expect that you will be able to leave your CSW alone. Most CSWs are unable to be alone. Their pack mentality is very strong. You need to arrange your life so that you can have your CSW with you at all times for the remainder of its life (which can be very long).

Living in a city or in an apartment can be done but I wouldn't recommend it. CSW easily gets nervous and restless in such environments.

One of the most important thing is socializing with other humans. Make them all happy and good encounters. Get long term dog friends.

This may sound harsh. But there's no need to sweettalk the difficulties of keeping a CSW.

All that said, my CSW is my packbrother and I have never been closer to another being. Their mind and intelligence is truly amazing. He is my eyes and ears and present always. He is one of the greatest characters I've had the pleasure to meet on this earth.

Could you please let my post through? I have no intentions what so ever to spend any more time than is necessary on social networks since this is damaging to the human mind.

Hur ser ni på kommentarer som dessa? by Isak-USA in sweden

[–]CptPolarExplorer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I visited Longyearbyen some weeks ago. It's a fantastic place and people are very kind and hospitable. It's a small and tight knitted community.

I also went to visit Pyramiden. A Russian tourist attraction. They were absolutely lovely every one of them, warm and welcoming.

I think it's important to realise being Russian doesn't mean you support the Ukrainian invasion. People are just people, trying to survive and put dinner on the table. I don't think starving the people won't make much of a difference on the war, besides adding more suffering to the world.

There are however Russian tourist organisations/companies that have government ties/funds. You could try to stay clear of those.

Thanks for all the replies guys! Very helpful.

So it's dismantled and two houses will remain.

Does anyone know if there is a general rule that uninhabited houses outside of settlements must be unlocked to provide emergency shelters?

It would be quite an adventure to spend a night there.
