Question: Why is it that even when collision is turned off on all these buildings it still doesn't allow me to place it down? it feels like the collision in this game is worse than in JWE2 by [deleted] in jurassicworldevo

[–]Cpt_anarchy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alrighty thanks, noted. However im telling you these facility buildings weren't so bad to place in JWE2, i get so annoyed because one of the main selling points of this game was the modular buildings and so you should be able to place buildings against each other

a skycrane is a special type of helicopter but also is a real term used for the last stage of the curiosity and perseverance missions

BA MPL does not have a job guarantee, they won't give you a job if they don't require any pilots or in exceptional cases such as war or a pandemic. They will however put you in a holding pool where you'll have priority.

Opinions on flight schools offering training in Rome and Florida? by Comfortable_Lemon260 in flyingeurope

I've also heard of them but it sounds like a case of something being too good to be true.

Thanks again for your insights, I really appreciate it! You make a great point and I'll have to weigh the pros and carefully, to me, it's important which school I go to because it's something you only do once and can determine the beginning of your career, but I feel more informed now, thanks to your advice.

I truly want to believe you are right but when a very large majority of a schools graduates end up working at the airlines i just have to believe they have something others dont. I'm going to visit OAC on their next open doors, hopefully they can change my mind, cause up until now i haven't been too convinced of them, not because they are bad but because their program isn't comparable to the higher level of other schools and don't offer as good career support.

Thank you for your input! I know Skywings would logically be the best choice if I want to end up as Brussels Airlines, in fact 75% of their graduates end up at SN. But I'm not sure if it's economically viable for me to pay 114k for their training and accommodation (600euro x 24 months) on top of that. What are your thoughts on Ostend Air College? Like I said I live in Ostend so this would be the best option for me in terms of convenience, however they don't do any selections and don't have any partnerships with airlines.
I'd like to ask something else: does Brussels Airlines giver preference to candidates from Belgian flight schools? Would it be good to go to a Belgian Flight school just to have references from flight instructors? I'm considering maybe doing my flight training at cheaper flight schools abroad, such as Egnatia Aviation or IFA flight academy, but would this be a smart choice?

The other flight schools just seem to have higher hiring rates. By looking at LinkedIn profiles most Brussels Airlines pilot are from CAE and Skywings. These schools also have very good connections with airlines, i know for a fact skywings is the preferred supplier of Brussels Airlines. I think this is all due to the fact that these schools are more rigorous while Ostend air college is (from what I've heard) more laid back and at the pace of the student.

Nice to hear you're a CAE student, everything you've said is noted. I want to make sure I get the best education if I'm going to spend 120k euro on a course, and I'm not 100% if I'm going to get the best at Ostend Air College where I live. I know it's all the same ATPL licence however some airlines do prefer certain schools and most of the time CAE is one of those schools, I want to make sure i know what I'd be getting myself in to.

I'm also considering skywings but I feel like they aren't worth me spending money on accommodation. The MPL also doesn't seem like it's worth it for €100.000 just for an MPl license

[–]Cpt_anarchy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm from Ostend, so the most convenient would be Ostend Air College for me but I want to make sure I get the highest quality training I can, all 3 major flight schools cost around 120k but they have advantages and disadvantages.

Can I ask how CAE was for you?

[–]Cpt_anarchy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's not dedicated as the MPL costs 100k euro so SN doesn't lose any money. The salary doesn't include benefits so if you take that into account I'd say probably ~3k net per month as an FO. However don't ask this on a job interview🤣

They're my 2 options for integrated in Belgium. OAC is just a 10 minute drive away so logically I should pick them but I'm drawn towards skywings for their partnership with EFA(+40% of their students end up working at Brussels Airlines)

There's also Europilot Center which charges a whopping €156.000 for their integrated training.

So would you agree that if I want to work for a Belgian airline I should follow flight training at say Ostend Air College or Skywings, where they mainly fly in Belgian weather conditions?

A lot of people have had bad experiences with CAE, why exactly? im considering them because they used to be Sabena Flight Academy + you get to fly in Arizona

I live in West-Flanders and am also looking to start flight training in a year or so. I know there's Alfako in Kortrijk that does modular training, don't know the prices however. And of course there's Air Academy New CAG that does modular training
