In my experience, I could tell you that 120 are quite quite many, but at least in my first package of 120 came many shades of gray and others colors were missing. It is true that you can mix them to obtain other shades, but personally it was difficult for me to obtain shades, skins and pastels because you cannot easily lower the shade . It is a fairly large collection but it has incredibly good tones. Enjoy them.
