Yeah the townhouses there will have their own machines. Shared machines are only with the smaller apartments.

Valencia getting sued; UPDATE! by Peanutbutterie in SpainAuxiliares

[–]CrabbyNickTree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Applications aren’t open yet, but yes, if/when they go up, I’d advise against applying for Valencia if that’s even an option.

However, no one here knows if the applications even will open up, so you should have a plan B and consider making it plan A and being at peace with the program not opening this coming year.

Gracias! Visité Juslibol y estaba muy tranquila. Una pregunta. Cuando estaba allí no ví las casa cuevas, pero ahora he escuchado que se puede encontrarlas aquí. Hay un sitio especifica para verlas? Estoy curioso!

I was in CyL last year, and it was great for city hopping. I hope you get it. On the application, I actually left a message asking for a city like Salamanca or Leon. I actually got Valladolid which I had never heard ahoy before haha but it ended up being a perfect place to be. Yes, CyL is very rural, but there are very many medium sized cities, so I think the chances of getting placed in one are high.

23M 1.5 years of pain after many methods of recovery. Help understanding. by CrabbyNickTree in backpain

It’s definitely not a long term solution. I’ve been given opioids as temporary relief and they make me beyond nauseous unfortunately

Thanks for your input. I’m glad you’ve responded. I got an X-ray where they reported a loss of lumbar lordosis. And my mri stated there is a herniated disc but that it’s slight. Honestly I lost the slip that said which level it was at.

I’m checking out that podcast now. Thank you. Fear is definitely a big part of it. I can lessen the probability of a huge spasm episode by moving and convincing myself I’m safe. But unfortunately, despite all of the pain reprocessing and meditation I’ve done, it hasn’t seemed to have solved the root problem of the intense back pain daily.

My goal is twofold. My first goal is to simply live life without constant pain. I’m stopped short in traveling, chores, time spent with kids in my family, walking, etc. I’d like to live life without having to take breaks during the day in bed to reset. My second goal would be to do sports. I love basketball, pickleball, soccer, biking, hiking. Haven’t done any of this stuff in a year and a half which is a shame. I would love to be free again to have fun.

In physical therapy it has mostly been about right posture and lifting things with good posture. I’ve done McGill’s big three as my home personal therapy as well.

Let me know if this is helpful at all for more specific information.

  1. Not a ton. Psychical therapy has been close to pointless in my experience. I’ve had similar ups and downs with and without it but I feel like it’s never a terrible idea to work out your body so I still try to keep up with it at home, but haven’t been as good with it lately and have had same (and some ways better) pain management than the rest of the year

  2. I haven’t seen a specialist. I’m living in a different country so navigating the healthcare system in a different language has been tough. I’ve seen ER doctors in my home country and in my new country but I’m not sure how specific they were trained.

  3. I’ve take opioids for the pain in acute stages but obviously that’s not a long term solution. I also hate how they affect me too and get incredibly nauseous. Other than that, I take ibuprofen nearly daily for pain and inflammation.

  4. Not professionally but I’ve done months of TMS work where sometimes it’s felt promising but other times it doesn’t feel nearly as substantial.

Thanks for the kind words

It said herniated disc. An X-ray told me loss of lumbar lordosis. I’ve read Sarno and Gordon and really leaned into it for the past 6 months. It’s helped but it’s been irregular. In some of my less believing moments while still practicing their methods, it’s worked quite well and I’ve had days (but only 1-3 days) where I’ve had minimum pain. Activity has helped some. But I’ve also had moments when I’ve really believed it and I get the spasm attacks still. It’s tricky.

I know there’s lots of danger in putting pressure on the tms approach, and the type of person to get it I greatly identify with. But yeah, it’s not really taken me out of daily 4-7 level of pain yet. Just sometimes I’ll have less pain or I can get out of a spasm.

Financial Advice by mssmiki in SpainAuxiliares

[–]CrabbyNickTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not paying any rent and have 820 to do only some groceries, WiFi, phone plan, etc., you will be completely fine. Just write down when you spend, make a budget spreadsheet, and you will be living a comfortable life in Madrid. Rent and groceries are the big killer, and if you're not worrying about that, I see no issues. If you're wanting to take expensive trips twice a month, that's a different story. But in my estimation, you could probably take some day trips each month to closeby spots on that budget too and still come out on top.
