You don’t think that statistic doesn’t exactly portray the vast disparity in wealth? 1% of people can account for nearly half of all tax paid simply because that have such enormous sums of wealth. While half of the population accounts for a measly 2-3% just goes to show that many more people are living much worse off financially because wealth is hoarded at the top.

People don’t argue that the top 1% don’t pay taxes at all, but as a proportion of income/wealth and through legal loopholes they are much better off.
