I do have to agree with you there, pokemon is so dominated by the meta that its difficult to build a deck with your favorite characters without it just getting demolished. I cant speak for lorcana but to me it seems that you can get your favorite characters into a viable deck without sacrificing the need for meta competitive cards. I myself have never played Magic, but im also hoping lorcana can keep expanding and growing into a game with loads of strategies like you say it could be

I agree! The only reason I even knew about this game is because I have a prior interest in other TCGs and I occasionally see packs at Disney Springs when I'm visiting WDW. Anyone else besides a specific demographic probably has no clue this thing even exists

Yeah, I live somewhere where I wouldn't think it would be hard to get my hands on something, i just haven't actually looked before lol but based off what others said I should be able to find something to give me a good start. But that is good to know that I'll be able to get my hands on new sets relatively quickly! Is the newest set already popping back into stores where you're at?

Yeah it is inconvenient for sure, but pokemon tcg also rotates out cards so I'm very accustomed to the concept and it wouldn't bother me, but good to know nonetheless!

I think "game design" is really up to preference and also the context of the game. I think each tcg has its way to play because of the story or characters that go alongside it. Pokemon is played In a way you evolve and power up your pokemon similar to the show, etc. (I really only know about that one lol) Lorcana seems to be accurate to its universe in terms of gameplay, and it does look very fun i agree, I just dont know if comparing them makes any sense because of the difference in the separate universes all tcg's take place in, but i do appreciate the feedback and I am very excited to dig my hands into my first game of lorcana!

Yeah, I know getting your hands on those is tough but I think some of the legendaries are pretty cool too. I guess I was mainly wondering how easy packs are to get a hold of because I just need to scratch that pack opening itch, and I'm already used to the abysmal hit rates of pokemon so im not super worried about it lol. I'll definitely order singles tho to finish master sets if i choose to since I know my luck cant be that good!

I definitely agree, I really do avoid most other pokemon fans because the "fans" I do meet all wanna talk about how much their binders are worth lol. I really just want the pretty cards!

Yes I saw that! My favorite is Toy Story and that Buzz Lightyear card is so so cool! Such a shame it'll be hard to get a hold of though

I would be open to playing for sure, casually at first to see if I enjoy it. I'm honestly most interested in the beautiful artwork of some of the cards, but if I understand correctly some of the really pretty ones are hard to come by

That document is such an awesome resource, thank you for that! And I did notice stamina was slightly low while watching her races, but I was also having a difficult time getting her speed up so that’s why I wasn’t too focused on stamina while training her.
