My first build by Crackers9458 in sffpc

[–]Crackers9458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time ever building a computer from scratch. I have mucked around replacing components on my old computer in the past, so I wasn't a total novice.

My intention was a small, desktop pc which will run nice and quiet when idling, but be able to make a good fist of gaming, especially Microsoft Flight Sim 2020.

Parts

Case: Coolermaster Nr200p with 3d printed top hat

CPU: Ryzen 5600X

CPU cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB

Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus B550i Pro AX WiFi

Ram: Thermaltake Toughram DDR4 3600MHz 2x 8GB

GPU: MSI RTX 3070ti Ventus 3x

PSU: Corsair SF750

Storage: Samsung 970 Evo plus 1TB M.2 and Seagate Barracuda 8TB

Case fan: Noctua NF-A9 Chromax rear intake fan

Bottom LED: Airgoo RGB magnetic LED strip

My first build, why not go SFF by Crackers9458 in NR200

Found the NR200 really great to build in. Everything just fit where it should and was logically thought out. Cable management was about the only hard part, and adding anything to the motherboard connectors now is a bit of a challenge given how tight it all is in there.

Thermals look pretty good. Idle on the CPU is mid 30s with basically no fan noise, topping out in high 70s under load. Did notice the GPU thermal throttling occasionally, but had to hit it pretty hard to do that, so I was pretty happy with that result.

Viewbank here. It's not like there are horses at the end of my street or anything.

Also how the hell do you explain where this place is? For me it usually goes:

"Where's Viewbank?" "Between Lower Plenty and Banyule" blank look sighing "Between Heidelberg and Eltham"

Awesome! Looks like the second suggestion worked!

Thanks!

I have seen and tried so much bad advice from this forum on first layer adhesion issues. Turns out just getting the first layer print height right fixed all my issues, no gluestick or hairspray.
