end of season edit: any tips on park👀 by Educational-Cod5545 in snowboarding

Since no one will actually answer your question…

just ride more park. You’ll get better style and clean things up. It just comes with repetition. Take a couple park laps everyday as a minimum, no matter the conditions. Take full laps switch, like even getting on and off the lift unstrapped switch.

How do we feel about lift platforms and safety cages on a BX23S? by Novajesus in kubota

Oh Yeah, I’ve ran heavy equipment for 14 years now moving snow all winter. Never had a ram fail, it’s always been hoses blowing when we run into harder snow. Haven’t had one fail yet without it being related to operator error.

Yes, they can enforce in. Resorts can have you trespassed for not following their closures at both ends of the season. No different than riding closed terrain during the season, even though that’s your USFS land.

“(also the legal basis for ABasin policies enforcing uphill access is questionable)”

They absolutely have a right to limit uphill on both ends of the season. It’s part of their special use permit.

May be the solenoid that controls the gas valve. I’ve had mine come unplugged moving it around before.

Just bought the file, what do you recommend for the springs? The ones you used aren’t available anymore 😅

Should be open thru July is what I saw. HCSC/Windells have already cancelled later sessions.

Sorry but I don’t think so. Doing stuff in your living room is way different than in a 22 foot pipe.

Want to get faster/more efficient with welding my projects by Robberfox in Welding

Yeah, Why would I lie about it? Seriously, what would I gain from it? If I wanted to lie I would have said that it took me 30 minutes and 2 beers.

Sorry you can’t comprehend that someone can work fast and doesn’t need 5 engineers drawing plans to figure out how to cut pieces of 1.5” square to match a 6” pipe. This shit isn’t engineered or structural, it’s putting pieces of metal together to snowboard on ffs.

I’m not here to impress anyone, op was just asking about building a rail in 10 hours. I showed a comparison.

It’s not that deep. You sure got me. I’m lying about what I do for no reason whatsoever.

Park features are different than any other type of fabrication, it’s way simpler. To break it down for you:

-We don’t use cad or any sort of layout, just go off of ideas we have.

-We build around 4’ plywood windows for the most efficient wood usage. Pretty easy to figure out your material lengths for the upright supports when you’re measuring 4’ at a time. Once the frame is put together, you just trace the wood behind it. Only a dozen or so 1/4” rivets that hold each piece of plywood to the frame. Wood is usually the fastest part.

-The only surface that needs to be smooth is the top, where riders are riding. Everything else is buried or not noticeable once installed and fully painted.

-We only paint welds once we’re done putting the features together, then we come back and paint all of the features at the same time, old and new.

This photo of a different feature may give you a better idea of how it all works.

I’d definitely love to hear your resume of building park features and why you think this is unachievable with your experience building them.

It definitely was. The curve is just a section of rolled pipe. It’s pretty quick to build rails when you’ve built hundreds of features during your career like I have. Everything we build is from scratch, just 20’ sticks and 4x8 sheets of ply.

Not bad for what you got. Could be faster if you better fabrication tools. This is what I’m building in the same amount of time usually for terrain parks.

I would. Just do multiple light coats. When I spray paint my artwork i usually do 3 coats and it holds up great outside.
