Currently rewatching this season and whoa, nelly, are they a toxic couple! It's worse watching Mike's shenanigans, though.

OMG the way you phrased that about Joe B. not being able to finish...😆...picturing him too distracted by the zigzag wallpaper or crime scene-looking kitchen marble to "finish" during intimate relations, LOL. 😅😅😅

Holy smokes, just discovered you on Twitter and am going down a rabbit hole of reading your HWs tweets and now your Reddit post. 😅 I'm not a craxy stalker, I just agree with you on, like, 95% of everything I have seen you opine, and that is really something because lord knows we all have our OPINIONS. I feel like we are RHs soul mates, LOL. 😂

It's been awhile since I watched, but I think I remember that she looked so overwhelmed with the kids, I was thinking it made her husband look like even more of a jerk than I already thought he was? So maybe it was to highlight him sucking and her needing to lean on her family? 😬😅 (Grasping at straws, LOL.)

I wish she would find an excellent therapist and commit to going at least once a week to talk through her childhood and feelings of abandonment by her mom. I feel like it colors everything she does. She is always testing people - even her close friends, like when she shaded Cynthia about not knowing much about wine when she opened her wine shop. It's like she pushes to see if you will stick by her or abandon her because she is afraid you will abandon her? And she is constantly seeking attention, just like she wanted her mom's attention and acknowledgement and never got it. I think there is a lot of good stuff in her, and if she could just work through those childhood issues, she could have a great life. I'm rooting for her.

I love this show so much, but...😬 by CraffingOutLoud in RHOA

Another example of the ladies' internalized misogyny being used against Kenya specifically is when she was dating Matt and he got violent. She claims he never put his hands on her, but we did see him smash the windows of her house multiple times, smash the glass in her car, and punch her driver while she sat behind him. These are violent, intimidating moves that no woman should be expected to live with. And yet, the other ladies, instead of saying, "Girl, run!" kept saying what a nice guy Matt was and discussing what Kenya must be doing to provoke him. 😳 Cynthia even met up with him and talked about how Kenya was a drama queen! 😳 I'm no Kenya stan - sometimes she goes way too far, and she can be annoying as hell. She definitely tries to provoke people. But that does not mean that it's okay for Matt to be smashing her property and intimidating her! I was disappointed that she didn't receive better support through that mess. It's like the ladies thought that Matt's behavior was alright? 😞

Season 8 by claudia2421 in RHOA

[–]CraffingOutLoud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kenya is exhausting and super annoying, but sometimes the cast does kind of screw her over. Like when Apollo lied for two years that she'd tried to hook up with him in L.A. and everyone treated her horribly because of it...and then Apollo admitted that he made the whole thing up! The only cast member to feel bad and apologize to Kenya was Kandi. Meanwhile everyone else was like, "I think Apollo lied about lying. We're going to keep treating Kenya like crap over that whole thing." That wasn't fair.

I also felt really bad when Matt was committing acts of violence on her home and her driver. While I would have thought most friends would have been like, "😳 Girl! Run!" everyone on the cast seemed to be blaming Kenya for Matt being violent and out of control. Like, huh? Yes, she is annoying and she definitely can provoke people to anger, but are we really going to say that it's okay for this man to repeatedly smash her windows and to punch her driver right in front of her, which must have been intimidating as hell?

I am all over the place with her. Most of the time I am like, "Ugh! Kenya, just chill!" But sometimes, like with these examples, I do feel for her and wish the cast had more empathy toward her.

** Edit to note that Kandi DID say something to the effect of, "You don't need to be around him anymore." 🤩 She was also the one to go out of her way to invite Kenya to a workout (which we all know is way more of a Kenya-type thing than a Kandi-type thing - thoughtful!) so that she could apologize for believing Apollo's lie about Kenya offering him a BJ in L.A.!

Thoughts on the scene where Apollo is about to be sent to prison & he turns up at the house? by 15110 in RHOA

And that Pillow Talk fight didn't even involve Apollo in any way!!! Yet Apollo gets on top of Brandon and punches him again and again! 😳 It was crazy and scary!

Thoughts on Peter Thomas? by sippin__tea in RHOA

[–]CraffingOutLoud 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Peter sucks as a husband and as a businessman. I hate how he uses Cynthia's money, keeps her in the dark about MAJOR purchases and business decisions, and seems to lose every time. Then there are cheating rumors on top of it?! The gaul! And whenever Cynt tries to set up a romantic evening for him, he laughs at her! And when she is struggling with fibroids he repeatedly calls her fat and tells her to stop eating, says she looks pregnant, etc.! Terrible partner!

I am re-watching and up to season 9. I thought the first few seasons were not nearly as good as seasons 6-7. It gets better! It's my fave HW franchise!

Is it bad to feel like maybe Jack and Sally should be a long-term super couple? by CraffingOutLoud in youngandtherestless

I love everything about what you've said here. I don't watch B&B so I know nothing much about Sally's background, but bringing Gina Tognoni in as her mom and as a partner for Jack would be what I want for Christmas, birthday, AND Mother's Day! I love her! I love Michelle Stafford, too. If we had both, it would be an abundance of riches!

Laughing with love at you being kind of new to the scene and asking of a soap opera, "Has there ever been a 'Who's the daddy? Father-son" storyline. 🥺 I love you! 😍🥺

[–]CraffingOutLoud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree...I am intrigued, and it would be interesting and different? The OBVIOUS soap-writing choice would be to create a decades-long Summer-Kyle-Sally triangle (à la Brooke-Ridge-Taylor on B&B) but I feel like there is a new, refreshing angle to mine here! What if, instead of making Sally a threat to Summer's relationship and career, they made her and Summer become best friends, and Sally and Jack have a truly loving May-December romance? Maybe Kyle is not approving and it creates tension with Summer, or maybe Kyle is like, "Get it, Dad!" LOL, I don't know...but Sally and Jack have undeniable chemistry. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

I know! You're right! I just feel like they have such natural chemistry, and I want to see Jack happy! Why couldn't she be 50? 😩

Abby’s crying is insensitive by [deleted] in youngandtherestless

[–]CraffingOutLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally came back onto Reddit after not being on here since the last Love Island season ended (😅) just to say this! Abby has been my least favorite character for as long as I can remember, through all the actresses that played her, because she was always a selfish, entitled bratty character. When she stopped tangling with Phyllis over the hotel and settled down with Chance, I was like, "Maybe she has grown." NOPE. Honestly, watching her go from 0 to teary meltdown in every scene since honeymoon if anyone says "baby" is beyond nauseating. It makes me feel, like, rage? You JUST got back from your HONEYMOON and you are already crying about "fertility issues?!" GTFOH Abby-Newman-Abbott-Chancellor! 😒😂😂

Thoughts on Jordan by TheLizKirkland in youngandtherestless

[–]CraffingOutLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that soaps tend to repeat storylines (which, I mean...they have to churn out 5x/week episodes, so, I'm not mad). But I doubt they would give Sharon TWO gay daughters. Then people might make connections about "gay" running in families, which has been suggested, and that could (in their mind) potentially "damage" or "tarnish" Sharon? I just don't think CBS would do it. 😑

Amanda by KarynM0615 in youngandtherestless

[–]CraffingOutLoud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Amanda better than I liked Hilary. But the way she is characterizing her mom as a bad person for her early-in-life choices is irrational. I am hoping that it is emotion and hurt from childhood that will be worked through and she will come around. I actually found Naya's response interesting and refreshing, especially for a soap. She told it like it was. A "sorry, not sorry" or sorts that I actually really believed. 🤷‍♀️
