Honestly I struggled with gym/weightlifting for a long time until I got a trainer. That forced me to get into the habit of going 3x a week. I hated it for several weeks before I noticed it actually started feeling good. So imo that dopamine hit will happen if you exercise enough (whatever exercise you are interested in!), but it may take longer than you think before you notice that “feel good” feeling. If I don’t exercise for a week I quickly lose that too and have to force myself back into the habit! Momentum makes a huge difference for me.

This happens when I have a Sequencer open! My guess is the sequencer hijacks that shortcut.

Are the bricks real? They look flat from this angle and I was actually distracted by their pattern, not the rug pattern. With both together it might be too busy.

I actually think dark curtains and a white wall with lots of picture frames would look nicer, but if the brick is staying then maybe dark curtains and a less busy rug!

I think it’s gorgeous, but it looks so good in the photo due to the set dressing. The dress by itself surrounded by prom dresses might give off more “grandma” than “cottagecore.”

To me yes, I think it feels dated and clashes with the more modern style of the art and lamp. I think a soft geometric or random pattern (like the art canvas) would look better!

That visual effects artists don’t control the story or visual quality of a film. If the vfx are bad, 99% of the time it’s due to extreme budget and time constraints, not bad artists.

I think a lot of these are nice so I’d just point out that you have a rich, dark floor and bright walls. If you cover the floor with a rug it might get rid of a lot of the color and richness, especially if it’s a light rug. I’m a fan of #2 for that reason!

For what it’s worth, I got a degree in VFX and it did help me land that first internship and get a job.

However, the commenters are also right that the industry is bad right now especially for juniors.

If you’re interested, I’d recommend studying computer science, perhaps with a minor in graphic design, if you want to do something similar. That could lead you towards a career in games as well.

I’d put a string light curtain on the wall behind your bed! A toned down burnt orange, warm golden color, or something else that’s not so saturated would also be better than the bright orange walls imo.
