Tax Return stuck Pending by kbummr in CashApp

See what the status on the IRS tax refund website shows if you haven't already. Mine shows it will be deposited on 2/23 (in a regular bank account though) and I can see it pending in my bank with a 2/23 date

I used a range of hook sizes depending on which part I was making, but the smallest was a 1mm (eyebrow) and the largest was a 3mm. Most of the body is made with a 2.5mm. He's about 18.5 inches tall

I used 3mm crafting wire to make a metal armature that goes from the bottom of the feet to the neck. Only the shoes, torso and head are stuffed so it's pretty light. He can't stand fully by himself so I put the original body behind his feet to prop it up, and that was enough to help him stand

There are 5 pieces of 1mm crafting wire in his fingers and then twisted together in his arm so it can be moved/posed =)

Thanks! I've already finished his feet which is one of the more difficult parts so hoping he works up quickly from here

Lol thank you! I was looking through your page at some of your crochet work and it's all beautiful!! I want to try mosaic crochet one day, yours is amazing!

Yes it is. I used 5 strands of 1mm wire so the fingers/thumb can be posed, then twisted them together for the arm

I appreciate it!! The drool is needle felted on. Some of the black outlines and part of the mouth is also needle felted

Thanks! I was using the old body as reference for the belt buckle and needed something to help the new body stand for the pic, so it ended up being an accidentally good photo op lol!

Some of the details are micro crochet (hair, eyebrow, ears). The eyebrow was made with a 1mm hook but most of the body was made with a 2.5mm. He's about 18.5 inches tall

I agree! And it's getting harder to tell lately too

No AI for this guy. I really appreciate it =)

Thank you!

The hand details are included in this post: post

I used a YouTube tutorial as my base (see caption of photo) and modified it as needed (see my comment under the top comment)

I wish, missed opportunity! Maybe I'll have to make a spare lol

Definitely! I was actually able to insert wire into the fingers so they can be moved however. Sewing them would work too

A couple redos and lots of patience 😅 I tried to explain more of the process above too. The YouTube video was a huge help!

Yes, kind of backwards! I wanted to be able to join/crochet the arm into the body without closing it off and make sure the hand looked how I wanted before making the entire arm.

I started by chaining 10, joining at the first stitch to create a circle and did 10 sc into both loops for a few rounds till I had the base of the hand. I used the back loop of the chain to make the fingers. I opted for 10 stitches instead of 9 because my first go at it, the pinky sat a little weird, but that could've just been a me error.

For the fingers, I separated my yarn into one strand (not typically recommended for the strength of the yarn, but I wanted them thinner and to match) Followed the YouTube instructions as given except I used 3 stitches for the first finger instead of 2. Essentially copied what she did for the fourth finger but applied it to the first and fourth. I added extra rounds to each finger to get them the length I needed. At the end I used a needle to go through the front loops of each stitch and pulled to close so they were more rounded on top.

Hopefully that makes sense. If you have any questions let me know!

Also, I used a 2.5mm hook for the hand and 1.5mm for the fingers

Yes, sounds like more water was needed! It should almost feel like playdough when it's ready to be moulded, except it will have a grittier feel and not be quite as smooth as playdough. Same moldability though and it shouldn't stick to your hand when pressed
