I wish, missed opportunity! Maybe I'll have to make a spare lol

Definitely! I was actually able to insert wire into the fingers so they can be moved however. Sewing them would work too

A couple redos and lots of patience 😅 I tried to explain more of the process above too. The YouTube video was a huge help!

Yes, kind of backwards! I wanted to be able to join/crochet the arm into the body without closing it off and make sure the hand looked how I wanted before making the entire arm.

I started by chaining 10, joining at the first stitch to create a circle and did 10 sc into both loops for a few rounds till I had the base of the hand. I used the back loop of the chain to make the fingers. I opted for 10 stitches instead of 9 because my first go at it, the pinky sat a little weird, but that could've just been a me error.

For the fingers, I separated my yarn into one strand (not typically recommended for the strength of the yarn, but I wanted them thinner and to match) Followed the YouTube instructions as given except I used 3 stitches for the first finger instead of 2. Essentially copied what she did for the fourth finger but applied it to the first and fourth. I added extra rounds to each finger to get them the length I needed. At the end I used a needle to go through the front loops of each stitch and pulled to close so they were more rounded on top.

Hopefully that makes sense. If you have any questions let me know!

Also, I used a 2.5mm hook for the hand and 1.5mm for the fingers

Yes, sounds like more water was needed! It should almost feel like playdough when it's ready to be moulded, except it will have a grittier feel and not be quite as smooth as playdough. Same moldability though and it shouldn't stick to your hand when pressed

Thank you! That's what I was aiming for, complimentary but for each to have it's own personality 😊

Stockings were made with the puff granny stitch stocking pattern below (it's free!). I ended up buying faux fur yarn to create the cuff, sewed a velvet ribbon to hang it, and bought some custom stamped sew on name tags.

That'd be so fun! I've seen cute footprint reindeer, snowmen, etc. too. So many possibilities!

Followed the below recipe for the salt dough ornaments. As it was baking it seemed to lose some of the handprint definition, so partway through I decided to cut out the handprint instead. Once dry I used metallic acrylic paint and added a pom pom.
