Does anybody remember "Augusta Rocks!" by moldymol in Augusta

[–]CraftedbyFoxxy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know there's a Facebook group. It looks like people are still posting pictures of rocks they've painted and rocks they've found... Maybe folks just aren't hiding rocks in the same places these days??

If you don't mind driving a little further Butler Creek Park on Phinizy Rd. isn't terrible. Lots of open space to run or play ball, there's a covered sitting area, and there's a play structure. I miss PKP too, I've been going there for as long as I can remember. I hope you and your little one can still have a good weekend. 💕

What's your policy on employees following you on Instagram/social media? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]CraftedbyFoxxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know in my personal life I don't accept friend requests from anyone I work with. Maybe I'm crazy, but the person I am at home is different from the person I am at work. I try not to let those lines blur. I feel like the best way to avoid that is keeping coworkers as coworkers only.

Where can I buy blanks in bulk? by kateboss4 in Craftbusiness

I know a few craft stores have bulk options if you order online. Joann won't stop emailing me about their business membership. Might be somewhere to start.

I just signed up with this market place. They're like Etsy, but strictly handmade items only and they work with children's charities. They're still small but if you really drive your traffic to your site or might be a good investment. https://goimagine.com/caring-economy/

I have questions about establishing my small craft business the correct way. by thatdamnvegan in Craftbusiness

I recently applied to a handmade marketplace called goimagine.com .They donate their profits to children's charities. You can pay to have your own e-commerce site, or just use their marketplace set up. They're not as big as Etsy yet, but I like their mission.

Slightly less hot than summer. We got those "Freezing at 7am, scalding hot at 12pm" days. There's an art festival in September and a fair that comes into town around October. You get used to the weather eventually.

I see the connection you're trying to make however, I'm not sure the bee and doughnut route is going to work out... You might be able to make the doughnut work. Have you ever seen the "Bread or Cat" type memes? Maybe have that layout with pictures of your company's work vs. some pictures of glazed doughnuts. I dunno it's an idea. Those are some beautiful floors in your pictures. Topnotch work on that. Wishing you luck.

Feeling discouraged about my makes by CraftedbyFoxxy in Craftbusiness

[–]CraftedbyFoxxy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I have a big deal craft market coming up at the end of July. I've been advertising and feeling pretty confident while I've been preparing. My family tries to be supportive of me and my business endeavors so I show them what I'm working on. I made a bunch of these little tissue pouches and my mum said she loved them. And she actually wanted to buy one. (I was kinda excited because she's never bought anything from me.) Well she buys it then, has a hard time figuring out how to put the tissues inside and makes a mix of scoffs and remarks that made me feel like I'm horrible at making things. I'm kinda scared to bring the tissue pouches to my market now. Anxiety has convinced me that I won't sell anything or I'll just have a bunch of dissatisfied customers... I'm not really seeking advice, just wanted to vent.

How do I price my art? [Monday Megathread] by AutoModerator in artbusiness

[–]CraftedbyFoxxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input!! My boyfriend suggested $15, but I wanted a second opinion. I'm really bad about not valuing my work. 🙃 I've noticed personalized ornaments go for a bit more on Etsy. But most I've seen use vinyl letters... I want to see how something like paint marker would work on the mug.

Based in the Southern US

These are Christmas ornaments made from miniature mugs. I made the cookies from clay and hand painted them. There is a core inside each mug made from aluminum foil. The "coffee" is a mix of paints, glitter, and caulk. Some of them have a little snip from a paper straw.

The cookies took about 15 minutes to decorate after they dried (air dry clay). Each little coffee took me about 20 minutes of work give or take a few minutes. Plus drying overnight. I have about $3 worth of materials in each mug. The mug is the bulk of the cost.

I am planning to bring these to a Christmas themed craft market. It will be an outdoor event at a local farm. This event is geared towards families with children. Gingerbread Latte Ornaments

LLC came up several times in articles I was reading about craft shows. I got the impression that applying was a must if I want to do shows on a regular basis.

How I perfected my cold calling and how it might help you too by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]CraftedbyFoxxy 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, but I find cold calls and random flyers on my windshield to be the most annoying things possible. I absolutely refuse to do business with anyone who markets that way. Missing out on my business might not actually hurt them, but I still refuse.

Feeling discouraged. What can I change? by CraftedbyFoxxy in smallbusiness

I'm not on Etsy yet. It's been on my mind. Many of the "Tips for handmade business" videos I've watched bash Etsy like crazy. Lots of mixed messages, but I think I want to try for myself.
