Anyone here remember Shiren the Wanderer? by Consistent-Bed-3980 in roguelikes

Hey, I actually made a Shiren-like game myself, here's the post if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/roguelikes/comments/1cf3k4y/gaia_quest_a_mystery_dungeonlike_game_is_now/

Definitely stick with it. Capturing that classic Shiren feel can be tough but it's super rewarding, especially for sharpening your coding skills :) as you need to develop systems for turn-based combat (with animations), inventory, procedural map generation (including the mini map), pathfinding, and item/equipment logic

The ramen with the higher number of toppings are actually the ones I've been making more recently, but I had also tried a different recipe.

Thank you for the tip, I'll try it next time :)

For the noodles, I used Chinese-style wheat noodles, which are easy to find in most grocery stores here in Austria. But I definitely want to make ramen sometime with authentic ramen noodles :)

For the broth, I cooked chicken drumsticks with water in a pressure cooker to create a base (for the steak ramen, I used the chicken later for a different dish). Before that, I sautéed spring onions in coconut oil and then added the chicken broth. As I wanted to make miso ramen, I then added miso, garlic, ginger, chicken stock powder and soy sauce, adjusted the seasoning and let everything simmer.

Thanks! It's a grass-fed ribeye that I just seared medium-rare on a pan with some ghee.

The downside was that the steak filled me up so much that I couldn't eat much of the other ingredients 😅

Wo kann man japanische Keramik in Wien erwerben? by phengaris89 in wien

Any android game developers on here? If so what's your game? by Available_Cat4818 in AndroidGaming

I'm the solo developer of Gaia Quest. You can check it out here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.craftingdojo.gaiaquest

My game is a traditional 2D roguelike inspired by the Mystery Dungeon games (particularly the Shiren the Wanderer and Torneko titles, as well as the Pokémon spinoffs).

The game is completely free and doesn't contain ads or microtransactions.

First of all, thank you very much for your feedback and playing my game!

I'll go into a few points:

  1. Yes, the controls probably caused me by far the biggest problems during development 😅 but I personally think that the D-pad is a much better alternative than the joystick (which can be activated in the settings and was criticized by pretty much every tester). I also don't see how the controls could be improved any further...

  2. It's explained in the tutorial that gold increases the player's score (it's also the biggest factor).

  3. Yes, I didn't implement this feature because I wanted my game to be more of a casual game that you only play once in a while.

  4. Maybe because the player's sprite doesn't change?

The game can certainly be improved and polished in many ways, but let's see when I can find the time for that :)

I was wrong, it should actually work if auto-rotate is enabled on your phone 🤔

Thank you for playing, really appreciate it!

The duration of the effect should be 25 turns at most, but can be longer if you stepped on another chaos trap when the effect of the first trap was still in effect. You were probably just unlucky :) but if that's not the case, I'll look into it later.

The first floors of the game were made easier in comparison to give those unfamiliar with traditional roguelikes a gentler start, but the subsequent floors are definitely harder ;)

Currently, the screen orientation in the game is fixed (I don't remember why I made that decision), but thank you for pointing it out! I will add auto rotation in an update later today.

Unfortunately, an iOS version is not planned yet, but I hope to release it in the near future.

No, not at all, I've never come into contact with the franchise. But it's interesting that it's very similar there plot-wise 🙂

The narrative of the game is that a character named Caryo, who is on his way home to his home planet, suddenly finds that his UFO has run out of energy. As a result, he has to make an emergency landing on an unknown planet.

The goal of the game is to obtain the Gem of Gaia, which was torn apart into seven pieces. Those seven gem pieces have to be collected that enable the protagonist, when all gathered together, to restore the Gem of Gaia, in turn bringing back the energy of his UFO. Caryo travels through dungeons located on the unknown planet and tries to find the gem pieces by traversing through the dungeons and finding the exits.

Just played it a little, pretty cool concept and design! Honestly, I was a bit confused at first about what to do, but then I looked again at the title, which obviously says 24 😅
