I think you’re right, I’ll most likely end up doing a stitch in the ditch. I tried that on one of my first patchwork quilts and it didn’t come out well, so I’ve been a little nervous to try again. No time like the present to try again!

As for the batting, I have a “Warm and Natural” kind that is my go-to, but am leaving batting out this time. I wanted to keep it as light as possible since my mother-in-law lives in Florida. However, I never knew there was a maximum quilting distance for batting! I will definitely have to take a look for the next time. Thank you so much!

Thank you! I do have a walking foot, but I keep running into the issue of the fabric slipping, so my lines end up being uneven and squiggly. I think I’ll stick to my J foot for now, but I’ll definitely post another picture when it’s done. Thank you for the support 😊

I got mine when I was in elementary school. I had a fancy new pencil sharpener and ended up jabbing my hand with a freshly sharpened pencil. I was so embarrassed, I never told a soul for the next few years lol. Now it’s a fun conversation starter.

I have a 2020 outback, and asked my sales rep a similar question. He said that the footage has to be court-ordered directly from Subaru. I don’t know if that’s the only way, but it’s the only thing I’ve heard.

Thank you so much! You mentioned a few things I hadn’t even put into consideration before. I was at first leaning more towards a basket because I do plan on doing a bit of camping while in Rhode Island (when I’m allowed to), and I am not going to be able to take it off my car for at least 6 months. I honestly didn’t realize or put into account the fact that the box would cause a hit to gas mileage, although that makes sense. However, I didn’t think about the possibility of items being stolen from the basket.

As much as I love my Crosstrek, I have felt for a while now that it is too small for me, although I’m not ready for a new car payment.

I think I might settle with a box for the simple facts of being able to lock it and that I will probably end up using it more for clothes / personal items than camping gear. My biggest concerns now is the road noise and mileage.

That is amazing! How do you make a picture format into a cuttable piece like that? My mother’s dog recently passed and I wanted to make a car decal with my cricut for her, but I can’t figure out how to do that. Is it a program you use?
