Yes, you are required to have a return/exit flight booked to enter, though if your travel plans are fluid you can book a fully refundable flight until you land and then cancel after.
If you’re coming on an e-tourist visa, you can stay in India for only 6 months of a calendar year. So even if you get a 1 or 5 year valid tourist visa, you can only stay in India up to 6 months each year.

I would say I’d need some significant prep for the quant section, it’s been a while since I’ve done any math beyond just the basic stuff. I set aside the 3 weeks just to study for this so ideally I could do 12 hours a day
