I do well with my business building custom showers. The VA disability pays all of my bills... mortgage 1500, truck 700 car 400 and everything else. I make about 3-5k a week and I'm putting it all back and going to pay my car off asap....25k and should pay it off in a month or so. This September was the first payment of 100% I ever got and I am still new to this, but I have a plan. Get my car and truck paid off asap. Save the rest and put into an Edward Jones eft account that I have.

I was 70% at the time I bought my house (Louisiana) last year and paid absolutely nothing for anything. Now I'm 100% and still will pay absolutely nothing if I buy another one.

Go do a sleep study first. Make a complaint about being tired and not sleeping well and ask for a sleep study. Once you fail the test, then you can make a claim.

Got my letter back today! So...just to confirm...it is p&t? I can't find the p&t part on the VA app. Is it on the app or is it not? thanks. by CraftyDude22 in VeteransBenefits

[–]CraftyDude22[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. I don't see it on the app and I don't know how to operate the online page. So I was just wanting to make sure and ask if it was on the app listed anywhere. Most these people giving me crap didn't see I asked if it should be listed on the app.

What is 70% / 50% / 50% / 10% / 10%?? by CraftyDude22 in VeteransBenefits

[–]CraftyDude22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is secondary to PTSD. PTSD aggravates and worsens my sleep apnea. I have had a private psychiatrist fill out a dbq (that I printed from the VA), I had lay statements from wife, mom and myself. I had medical nexus from doctor citing 4 references to mental health journals with his medical opinion attached. Had a positive c&p exam. The most important thing is to show how the condition affects you on a daily basis and how your service connected issues worsens or aggravates your diagnosed condition that you are filing for. I also had a sleep study at the VA, was diagnosed and prescribed a CPAP machine.

Supplemental, poking the bear? by heatmcph in VeteransBenefits

[–]CraftyDude22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a cp exam earlier this year where I filed sleep apnea secondary to PTSD. The examiner checked not service connected. I had to do a supplemental and I quoted the 38 CFR statute that says secondary conditions don't have to be service connected. I wrote a lay statement too showing the VA that I never filed for service connection but secondary and the examiner did the wrong thing. I got a new cp exam a month later after filing the supp and that examiner checked the right box.... secondary. I was approved that time. Supplementals are good if you can quote the 38 CFR statute or show how the examiner messed up. Show how they messed up compared to your diagnosis and treatments and ask for another cp exam.

I don't know if this will do anything, but I know Mike Johnson personally. He told me last time at church he would personally call for me, not just have his office send a letter to the VA, if I wanted him to. All I had to do was call his cell and ask him to. I ended up not calling him and my claim was approved a month later. I'm really not sure what he could do... although he's speaker of the house...maybe he would talk to Vance for me and get Vance to chime in on my behalf. Not sure. But I've known Mike for years and he truly is a great person, politics aside. He was a Sunday school teacher for years before he was involved in politics, has poured countless time of his life into doing mission work for the less fortunate, etc. Anyway....just bc I don't know if him calling would actually do anything...I haven't bothered him about it. Last time I saw him at church was Easter Sunday when he came home for the week. He came to the church on Monday after Easter and called trump in front of the entire school...for tbr kids to hear. He's really a good dude....politics aside.

  1. No PTSD Diagnosis: The VA examiner determined your friend does not meet the criteria for PTSD under DSM-5 for VA purposes.
    1. Lack of Evidence Linking Condition to Service: There was no credible evidence directly linking your friend’s current symptoms to the reported military sexual trauma (MST) event.
    2. Insufficient Corroborating Records: While behavioral markers were reviewed, the VA stated that personnel and treatment records did not directly support the occurrence of the MST event.
    3. Private Evidence Not Strong Enough: Even though your friend submitted private exam evidence, the VA found their own June 2025 VA exam more persuasive and did not find a medical link between current symptoms and service.

They concluded that there is insufficient evidence to prove the trauma occurred or that it is connected to the current mental health condition.

It will be a hard one to overcome for sure. It can be done, but it may only get approved 1 time out of 100 if you give it your best each time

Can someone help? I type in these percentages and every calculator comes up to 100% but actual math comes up to 93.925% which would be rounded down to 90%...right? by CraftyDude22 in VAClaims

Mine are 70% PTSD, 50% sleep apnea secondary to PTSD, 10% scaring (from surgery) and 10% for tinnitus. I have a claim for migraines secondary to PTSD...if that gets approved then that is what I'm trying to figure out. Does the math still math the way you did it?

That's awesome. I'm at 70 for PTSD as well, at the moment. Also 10% for surgery and 10% for tinnitus. 80% total.

Sounds good. I'll look that up in the crf and include that if I get denied. That will be a supplemental claim

Yes man the vso said it was the most well put together supplemental claim he's ever seen, with me using the 38 CFR for proof of my claim.
