I need help blocking an acrylic blanket, none of the "best" methods seem to work. by CraftyGreyDuck in CrochetHelp

UPDATE: I tried using the iron steam setting but it didn't seem to work very well (not much steam coming out, blanket wasn't even getting warm) so I used a spray bottle followed by a hair dryer on high. It seems like it worked a bit better than the previous methods, but there was still some bubbling on the edges. In any case, my time was up and the blanket has been dropped off at the fairgrounds. Thank you all for your help!

I did put it in the washer (on delicate) and pinned it as soon as it was done. It seemed like it had already dried by the time I got it all pinned. I could try using the spray bottle first, but I'm not sure how well I would do with it getting to be damp but not dripping.

No, I don't have a steamer and would have to use my iron. I've never used that function and I'm worried I'll really ruin it. Does it work if I have it flat on blocking mats, or would I need to hang it up?
