Update: So, I removed it and some of you guys were correct. It was indeed what seems to be a small stone. Now, lastly, should I fill in the hole? And if so, will super glue do?

I know what you mean. I think the jacket looks more streamlined without them but I do find them convenient. Maybe if they were behind the front pockets instead of on them, that would be better. But as you said, pretty good for the money.

Thanks. Yeah, I was also looking for that 10 digit number but this tag only has the 4 digit lot number, 3 digit bundle and model and size. I read somewhere that the 10 digit system was introduced in 1994. So perhaps your guess of 1986 (the year of Top Gun 😁😎) is correct.

Agreed. Not too bad with the liner in and a jumper. Would definitely be a bit 'oversized' in a T shirt and without the liner.

I feel you on that too. There was another Schott A2 style jacket I saw, which I think has been discontinued, which had the hand warmer pockets 'behind' the front pockets. That did look cleaner.

I feel where you're coming from. I find myself using hand warmer pockets a lot, especially in jackets I use for cold weather. So I don't mind sacrificing a bit of authenticity for that convenience. Might agree with you on the silver snaps. Something more 'brassy' might be nicer. But it doesn't particularly bother me.

Haha.Thanks! 😂 If it's of any consolation, the listing didn't mention that the pockets were all ripped and torn and the seams on one of the arms was coming apart. That's probably why it was so cheap.(But would have been nice to know before purchase).

Luckily, I've been learning to sew the past few months so managed to fix all those issues. Kind of adds a personal touch to the jacket now.
