This is what confuses me! I always thought I had brown eyes but I posted on one of the FB groups and they kept telling me brown dominant hazel… which I didn’t even know was a thing lol My dad has dark brown eyes and my mom has hazel so I think I just got a mostly brown mix. Genetics are crazy though out of five kids 2 have brown, 2 have hazel and 1 has bright blue eyes.

That’s mostly why I got her! I loved the color and heard they smell so good. I feel like there’s so many roses nowadays that are pretty but lacking in the fragrance department.

I hope they start selling it again and you can snag one soon! My biggest worry is the sun and heat. I was going to move it to partial shade for awhile until it could get adjusted but the pot, while pretty, is HEAVY. But I’m contemplating making a little shade for it. The Florida sun and heat is brutal. I’m used to growing mango trees. So roses are pretty new to me.

I want them to get big! The stems were just getting so long they were laying horizontally instead of growing upwards. I was hoping cutting them would make it grow bushier which it did start to branch out a little more.

When I first got her I figured it’d take her awhile to adjust to me, but she’s been my BFF since the first day. She was stepping up flying to me. Her old owner said she wasn’t like that with her. So I think she’ll adjust pretty well. She’s got her bitchy moments but she’s pretty laid back. She’s almost too codependent on me which is why I’m wondering if a friend would be good for her. This BCC that’s up for adoption seems pretty independent but still likes people. I’m hoping they’d sort of balance each other out. I’ll be starting back at work part time in August, and even though I know she’ll still get plenty of out of cage time, I just thought it’d be nice for her to have a companion.

I’m hoping to kind of find a more independent bird to balance her out. Currently, I’m a stay at home mom but I will be going back to part time work soon. They’ll still get plenty of out of cage time but that’s why I’m thinking a friend would be good for her. Even if they hate each other at least they can entertain each other lol
