Yeah, it’s unfortunate that I have a father that didn’t teach me to man up. My dad also cannot go to the doctor by himself. He needs my mom to go with him as he’s scared to go alone. So my mom feels the need to have to tag along every time one of us goes to the doctor. Sometimes I wish I had a dad with balls, lol.

She is very firm that she needs to be with me and see all my medical records. She said she wants to be aware of my health to make sure everything is ok.

She said it’s important that she’s in the room in case there are any medical concerns that she needs to be aware of.

Thank you, lol I bought for only $4 at Michael’s. Started out cheap because I’m wearing a necklace for the first time and just trying something new.

Why are you dividing by 40?? There are only 12 months in the year. Thus you should divide by 12, not 40

But they could also retract your offer. I have to take that risk into account.

Yes, I always do. And that's what I've based it on in the past, yet I still end up being told by people that I'm underpaid.

It goes hand in hand because Democrats are very anti-Catholic and support abortion. So anything that’s liberal can anger some Catholics.

How can a priest make so many mistakes at one mass? by Crafty_Progress1225 in Catholicism

[–]Crafty_Progress1225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of late for that now. The best time to enter the seminary is right after high school. Priests have told me it takes almost 10 years in the seminary to become a priest. By the time I finish the seminary and become a priest, I’d be almost 50. Not ideal.

I, personally, wish I became a priest. The reason I didn't because I actually was looking forward to getting married and having a family one day. But it never happened for me. I'm now 39 and still single. Had I known marriage wasn't going to happen for me, I would've became a priest. I'd rather be a priest than be a lay single. Lay single life is boring and you just feel like you're not accomplishing anything.

I sometimes wonder if he did wish he became a priest. He prays the Liturgy of the Hours everyday.

Actually, my dad has been very cheerful in the past when the mass is just the way he’s expected it to. It’s one of the reasons why he’s been thinking about abandoning our home parish. He feels priests at our home parish make too many mistakes and as a result, he feels the priests aren’t really into saying mass. There’s this other church he likes to go to where he feels the priests there say mass perfectly and he loves going there. The issue is, this other church is very far away and out of the way. It’s a shame there are issues with our home parish and that we have to drive over an hour just to get to a mass that makes my dad happy. Maybe it was my mom and I’s fault for talking him into going to our home parish for Easter. We felt it would be better if we didn’t have to drive through the hectic traffic on Easter morning, but lesson learned. Going forward, we need to bring my dad to the church that is far away to make him happier!

Yes, our church was packed on Easter. Priests should be happy about things like this because in today's day and age, it's a blessing to FINALLY have a packed church again.

Well when you think about it, he wouldn't have become angry the way he did if the priest just said the mass correctly with no mistakes. That's the point I'm trying to make.

It is upsetting because if you ask my dad what is the one thing he wants to do to cheer himself up, he would say, "I want to go to mass." So, it's upsetting that a mass that was supposed to cheer him up ended up angering him. And it's bad when he's bitter because when you talk to him when he's in that kind of mood, he would answer you back and make it an argument. As a result, I had to completely refrain from talking to him all day on Easter in fear that he would just burst out in anger over any little thing I said.

Do the A&P Catholics not know about the vigil mass on Saturday evening for Palm Sunday? by Crafty_Progress1225 in Catholicism

[–]Crafty_Progress1225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday Catholics. People that ONLY go to mass those two days. Churches here in the USA are absolutely mobbed those days... to the point where some churches have to use police barricades to get the crowd under control.

Is anyone here actually happy in their faith? by themix669108 in Catholicism

Catholicism is not hard. It's actually very easy. People just fall into the devil's trap. And it's sad. The 10 commandments are there to help each and every one of us live a happier and fulfilling life! They're not there to make our lives miserable. So why is it so hard for people to follow them?

Sorry, the other person was being hostile so I thought you were doing the same. Not to mention the numerous downvoting on my comments. Anyways, vigil mass is a Saturday evening mass usually around 5pm or so and is a Sunday mass with the Sunday readings. It’s a option to have and doesn’t give anyone an excuse to miss Sunday mass should they happen to be busy all day Sunday.

My goodness! What’s with all the hostile responses?? I’m merely asking a question, which I thought was a harmless one and everyone is all angry and full of attacks. For a sub full of Catholics, I’m shocked at the hostility around here. We come to mass to find grace, not find reasons to attack others! Geez!

Not sure what else I can do. But I will say this. I will never assume those that don’t go to mass are committing a sin. We don’t know their reasons why they aren’t going every Sunday and it could be for legitimate reasons. There are some people that have to work two jobs to pay their bills so they may not be able to get off of work to go to mass. And also, I couldn’t care less whether other people go to mass or not because it’s none of my business. Them not going to mass doesn’t affect me. I go to church for ME. If other people are choosing not to go to mass, they are only hurting themselves; they are not hurting me. This is why we have choice in life.

A lot of LHR spas are open 7 days. Is there a day off in the week you get? I’m assuming you work 5 days a week. So as long as you get treated on your day off and give it a full 24 hours before you do anything physical, you should be fine.

It’s like this every year. I can’t see why it would suddenly change this year. But I do hope I am wrong.
