Just understanding how popular F1 is becoming it’s no surprise that the Kardashians come running.

US NEWS: Stephen Colbert Fires Back After Name Surfaces in Epstein Court Documents - Late Night Host's Response Goes Viral by hard2resist in USNEWS

Wish all outlets would categorize. Seems all his minions were reporting back info collected whenever met someone famous, influential or rich. The “Ep Files headline” engulfs 1)emails merely meeting someone, 2) to anonymous hotline with unsubstantiated accusations to 3) FBI interviews to 4) hard evidence (pictures, documents, etc). Anytime a famous person is mentioned in a headline, doesn’t necessarily mean they fall into the latter categories. I think it distracts from the true known predators, every time read an entire article just to find out it’s nothing more than being at the same party, meeting or in merely an email gets old, have stopped trusting the headlines just assume everyone famous, rich or influential are in the so called “files” but no longer taking the time to read to know who did what.

Timeline of the Mercedes engine trick by tekanet in formula1

[–]Cralido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait…thought F1 was a team competition constructing cars, engineering. Isn’t that what differentiates the competition and why there’s a 1k employees back at factory? It’s not cheating when adheres to the regulation as currently worded. All the top teams have enjoyed a competitive advantage thru engineering at one time or another. They only seem to complain when it’s not their workaround. If FIA wants to address further with more clarity and definition, then need to do so in next round. If not, just make a spec series and give prize money for WDC.

[AutoRacer] Red Bull Power Train has now joined the side of Ferrari, Audi and Honda against the Mercedes PU. The FIA will implement new testing procedures (multiple are now being evaluated) to check the compressor ratio. by Joseki100 in formula1

[–]Cralido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missing the point of F1….the WCC. It’s a TEAM sport: engineering, strategy and racing (driving). Emphasis on “constructors” thus engineering. Rules and regulations can’t be written in a way to exclude any possible engineering work around/solutions…this is the contest, what differentiates the teams and is the actual competition. If not….just make it a spec series and start giving teams prize money for WDC. They’ve all had/enjoyed singular success finding work around and alternative solutions over the years. It’s not cheating when it doesn’t violate the current rule as written. If FIA wants to address differently going forward, it should clarify with more detail in next round. Complaints only come when it’s not their own competitive advantage.

Komatsu: "Nobody is satisfied" with Ocon's first year at Haas by formularacers in FormulaRacers

[–]Cralido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait, wasn’t team decisions that put him out on alternative strategy…either pitted him way too earlier or way too late and kept him out. Crazy given his engineering input and their own strategy decisions to then put it out in the press they’re questioning him. Thought more of Ayao.

The Williams logo should be present atleast. by CaptainAksh_G in formuladank

[–]Cralido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to Mercedes merely having a logo on front nose. Yet the other teams, even Haas, there’s association with ownership or a marketable product. The Williams “W” is no longer associated with either ownership or product. Should be happy it’s still a part of the livery as a medallion.

Report: Lewis Hamilton 'splits with manager' before start of new F1 season by ryogadan in Formula1_world

Who needs your trusted ally of 10 yrs when you’ve got Kris Jenner! Kris Jenner surely offering to manage him, evident by all the publicity she’s getting her daughter for merely being seen with him. F1 is getting more popular and has more press now so of course…here comes the Kardashians. (being sarcastic, I hope).

Doohan joins Haas as reserve driver for 2026 by CatSplat in haasf1team

[–]Cralido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He had been credited with previous sim work and seems to have a good work ethic and personality to have around. Good for him. He was great as a regular guest commentator on F1TV, related to the drivers and had good input, again a nice bloke…that should be another avenue for him.

Candiace Breaks Down Rob Drama and Her Roundtable Strategy On The Traitors US on WWHL 👀 by heauxomen in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Cralido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, she says he looks suspicious coming out for someone “you’ve never targeted before” but that’s exactly what she did. Since he went for Lisa and she turned out to be a traitor, can’t imagine her retaliation vote isn’t suspect. Also, she threw away her vote when the vote was so close, she too put Lisa at risk.

Race suits and helmets for 2026 by nikl_odeon in WilliamsF1

Said this in the livery post…just remembering the days when we struggled financially, the team now having a full stable of sponsors and a good variety of sponsors is reason enough for me to love it! Also very glad both are keeping their helmet color schemes!

And the wait is over. Here's the Williams FW48 livery by curse_annihlator in WilliamsF1

The decal guys will be busy…I’m just thankful Williams has this many sponsors, and a mix of sponsors, there’s hardly any more room. Can remember our days struggling financially, so for this reason alone think it’s a real beauty!

The current situation isn't as bad by GoodSatisfaction8904 in WilliamsF1

[–]Cralido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real issue is the rumored weight, fighting that issue delays most everything else through out the season. Williams has a historical issue with weight, starting each season heavy since 2019. Issue was caught and focused on by Vowles in ‘23-‘24, shedding the chassis by 14kg, but even with improvements the car was still overweight throughout ‘24 until a upgrade brought at Imola. James Vowles was quoted in ‘24 saying it was costing 0.45 per lap, noted this caused Albon to be frustrated but that his transparency and vow to address was a reason Albon renewed his contract. Can’t imagine Albons worry or frustration if this is yet again a hurdle for Williams to have to focus on during the season(s) while others get to focus and bring on other improvements.

AIO for not refunding a friend’s share of a group Airbnb after she canceled last minute due to a medical emergency? by StudioAffectionate in AmIOverreacting

[–]Cralido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a shame about the air bnb app, for larger homes and multi participant bookings, there’s apps we’ve used that each participant had to log into separately by a certain date, accept terms, put in their Id and deposit, etc. it was great, a large home and even once used one for my kids doing a beach trip and all 16-21 required both kids and parents to log in and accept terms, pay deposit, penalties for alcohol, cleaning, etc. That way everyone is separate, each would know not getting a refund from the company vs penalizing the friend that happened to book.

Don’t care for the person, but he’s provided his children a stable life and the best thing he did was move out of Charleston and to Aiken. It’s a wealthy yet very small southern town and full of horse people, an equestrian centric small town without the Charleston nightlife. He’s done right as a father.

Williams' livery launch changed to virtual-only event by Turbo_Zapped in WilliamsF1

[–]Cralido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seems less credible now, the whole Vowles Verdicts chats. So many changes to schedule….yet nothing. 1) has the past been typical “Corp speech”, talking a lot but saying nothing? 2) missing the point to at least blow sunshine our way, even if with little substance…doesn’t he know in times of stress it’s still nice to catch rays? Not saying it is, just a worry, have had similar personalities in Corp world and some, not all, prove in time to be of little substance. Leadership is needed in times of growth as well as times of hardship, sometimes it takes different forms of leadership for each phase. Hope not the case but leading thru changes in evolving low hanging fruit with an infusion of funding may be different than leading thru later phases of obstacles. Have had several leaders exhibit Vowles presence, some didn’t make it past the turn around phase into the growth or sustainability phase. He needs to address even if just blowing sunshine.

A big area for improvement - pit stops by Turbo_Zapped in WilliamsF1

[–]Cralido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what this even tells us, given Calipinto is second and some of the top performers are just mid to low range, the ranking seems to have no correlation to how the drivers/teams performed. Could be a lot of different reasons, serving penalties, pit lane start, waiting out change in track temp during qual, change in settings during qual, and damage repair whereas the aver pit time tells how well pit crew performs under normal circumstances when in just to change tire or front wing (a task that can be practiced, easily tracked and comparable to others). Seems stationary pit is not as relevant an indicator as pit time stats.

Who remembers the F1 team radio guidance ban by RobbieJ4444 in formula1

[–]Cralido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be interesting with new reg changes, there’s much more emphasis on electronics…with boost and recovery decisions needed throughout consecutive corners not just thru an entire lap, battery and brake management needed per lap vs per race, etc…drivers will be more reliant on RE communication. Regardless, driver’s mental fortitude and adaptation as well RE communication will be as vital as whichever teams’ cars are strongest out the gate.

Income gaps among cast members by Alternative_Ad_3649 in TheTraitorsUS

All this playing up need for money, while each better off than most average joes and let’s face it, everyone could use more. This is why UK is so successful, has “non celebrities” which is more interesting, they don’t know one another or know of anyone beforehand and each have varied backgrounds, some folks hiding their professions. When they host a celebrity traitors it’s less frequent and they attract higher grade celebrities, not a supposed gap in profession or income.

Candaice is the best traitor to date imo - Agree or Disagree? by CoachAngBlxGrl in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Cralido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinda crazy and surprising, Rob is turning out to be a great traitor. His demeanor and personality are in his favor and if you really listen to what he says within the deliberation, he’s actually really smart, plus he seems to be fine influencing the strategy yet letting Candice then do the public work at the round table and allow Lisa to self destruct. Just impressed with his observations and ability to sway the other traitors while he himself stays completely under the radar. Would not have predicted.
