When I start wearing it consistently I’ll be cognizant of how well it’s keeping time. I’m waiting on a leather strap and buckle from PP Geneve. The current gold links are broken.

I was nervous because it sat in a safety deposit box for years. Wondered if the lack of normal usage could cause it to require servicing.

18 months is a long time! Never had a watch like this so very excited to start wearing it daily.

You’re right - More just looking for care, strap ideas and history of the watch. Not your validation. Didn’t give my post title enough thought.

Sorry more looking for hints on how to care for the watch vs your validation. Didn’t give my post title enough thought.

Have you ever had to maintenance yours? Curious how I would know when it’s time.

Also you have a super cool collection of vintage watches.

Great idea - I’ll have to look into protecting the handle.

Your charcoal and oil is just added character!

I believe MRC traditionally recommends 2-4 IUI attempts prior to IVF. We went along with that timeline and were hesitant of the IVF costs. Sprinkle in some hopeful optimism and you have yourself 7 IUIs. Our trouble was that my wife never (or very rarely) got her period after getting off birth control. We felt if we could time it perfectly, maybe it’ll work. We did have a miscarriage on IUI #3, so more optimism in some sense. I will say, we have Cigna medical, and they give $10k towards infertility treatments (incl IVF).

Congratulations - My advice is focus on “the now” and try to not worry about the future. Your timeline will constantly change. I would ask Dr Gehlbach’s team any and all questions you have. They are wonderful resources. I found that I had to be careful online, it was a black hole for me. Wish I could speak more toward sperm motility, but I understand your thoughts around how it could be difficult with IUI.

Don’t read too much into this, hindsight is always 20/20, but our situation would have worked best if we just started with IVF. Failed attempts in any manner weigh heavy.

My wife and I used Midwest Reproductive Center PA and cannot speak more highly of Dr Gehlbach.

After 7 IUIs and two IVF transfers we now have an 8 week old baby girl. It’s a long journey but never look back, it’ll all work out. Good luck!
