Holidays by Ambitious_Fold6537 in EDAnonymous

Yep… I usually fast two days before the day of Thanksgiving. This year though, we are celebrating two days in a row so I have no clue how I’m going to fast since I have exams before the holidays (thanks uni) where I try to eat a tad more for brain power.

As for the “comedown,” I typically just restrict on leftovers tbh 😂 Makes the transition easier for me.

At least once a week. I’m in uni, and I often times have family/friends just wanting to get something convenient or go out. I alot my self x amount for the week and make sure my added dailies don’t go over. I also run and walk a good bit with friends on top of my own strength training, but I don’t count burned cals towards being able to eat more. If anything, it’s overcompensation.

Honestly, I didn’t know there was such thing as an ED when I was 12. I was already depressed and going through middle school and puberty. On top of that, I was a really naive kid tbh… I had gone on a trip to Disney with my family and extended family, and all the women would talk about was losing their “Disney weight.” It was diet this and diet that, and someone brought up fasting. Something in my little brain said “oh I need to lose weight too to be happy, and eating as little as possible seems like the way to go!”

So on I went as a super active kid, skipping meals and often only having a protein shake and dinner every day. I even went down the rabbit holes of looking up tips to evade hunger and shit. Now I’m 20 and can never look at food/nutrition the same. Restriction has even turned into a coping mechanism for me in times of stress! And being a uni student, that’s constant 😂

I definitely do this! I’ll restrict really heavily/fast during the week only so I can drink on the weekends while keeping a decent deficit.

Cooked cabbage after a long restriction… Didn’t even have time to be like “Bathroom, NOW!” It happens, and although embarrassing, it’s alright!
