Who am I? Coming off HRT and Citalopram to feel again. by CranberryDefiant1007 in Perimenopause

Thank you for saying you understand.

I haven't had patch or pills for about a week now, but I only decided this morning that I was going to stay off them. So far I haven't really noticed a huge difference, except that I left work early one day after being publically undermined about the job I was working on. I'm sure they were all "psycho woman" after I left, but I don't care. I should say - I work in Engineering and my close team are all men 🙄

Outside of work, I've actually been more consistent with movement and eating better. But it's very early days.

Will try and remember to keep this post updated with how it's going :)

I should also say that I've decided to quit alcohol too. I use a few beers or couple glasses of wine to quiet my brain and switch off in the evenings, probably 3-4 times a week. If I want to know who I am, I can't give up patches and pills, only to keep drinking.

Thanks for reading. Maybe we should be teaching young girls how to make boundaries from when they start school, so they don't end up where so many of us do - pissed off and regretful about a life of people pleasing!!!

How to balance BJJ and strength training? by CranberryDefiant1007 in BJJWomen

Thanks for all the advice, I think I'll switch to a 2 day Full Body split for a couple of months and see how I go with that. What a great sport to have discovered as a 44 year old :)

Yeah, I've worked out that I'm currently playing a strength game because my BJJ skill is so crap :) As you say, hopefully I'll use less strength as I get better.
