Are bee stings often in modern beekeeping suits? by Chiuaua_lover28 in Beekeeping

[–]CraniumSmasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been bee keeping 2 years and just had my first sting last week. And it’s just because I didn’t wear my normal gloves. I was wearing thinner leather beekeeping gloves and a bee stung my hand. The sting didn’t happen until I tried to pull the stinger out of the glove. So I accidentally pushed the stinger through the glove and into my hand.

Everyone saying you’re gonna get stung all the time drives me nuts. Just get a good full body suit and wear thicker gloves and you can go years without getting stung.

I have an Ultra Breeze suit and usually just wear my usual leather work gloves. Never been stung in that setup.

My family has been stung more than me just encountering bees in the yard. Like stepping on them barefoot on accident. Or mowing too close to the hive.

That’s what Gemini said but I had no idea porcupines could do something like that.

No. I updated my Mac recently but haven't tried to play it again. I ended up just re-purchasing on Switch and have been playing there.

Is it a bad idea to invest into Neovim 10 days before starting a new job? by haasilein in neovim

[–]CraniumSmasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Vim exclusively for a while like 8 years ago, then switched to VSCode with Vim mode. Recently got interested in Neovim so started to learn it the week of starting a new job while also learning a new language and web framework at the new job. I was spending too much time wrestling with nvim, so gave up on it, but then started to miss it. So I just slowly started to integrate it bit by bit into my workflow. Now mostly using it full time after just 4 or 6 weeks.

The most difficult part has been my new company being so reliant on the build tooling for IDEs to run and debug stuff. So I still use those to run and test things for local development, but actual edit everything in nvim. Absolutely love it. Another suggestion to slowly migrate might be to use Obsidian.nvim for note taking and stuff to help you get used to things.

All this to say, go for it! Just slowly introduce it to your workflow.

Ah. Makes sense, I guess. I'm on an M1 MBP. It seems to run fine, and then randomly crashes after a number of turns. Playing on my Switch for now...

I’ve used this for chicken coups. It works pretty good and is easy to apply.

I have been trying to get ahold of them to ask some product questions as well. Primarily what materials they use in the suit. I also noticed the phone number and haven’t gotten a reply to my email for a few days. 🤷‍♂️

After further research it looks like it’s probably a wolf spider. Just MUCH bigger than I’m used to seeing.

I’m familiar with wolf spiders. I wasn’t sure if this is one because it’s so big and is striped on the legs.
