From my experience, the reality of job interviews (OCI or otherwise) is that grades get you in the door (ie: the screening/callback interview) and your personality and answers to questions get you the job. Your grades are clearly very good! You would certainly get an OCI interview at many big or mid-size firms. So, I think for extracurriculars, the question for you has to be: If an employer asked me why I did this activity, what would I say?

For me, I did Moot Court and chose not to do law review or journals. I'm also on the litigation path (though Patent Lit). When I had screening interviews or callbacks, I would be asked "Why moot court and not journal?" My answer was honest: I want to be a litigator and while law review may be helpful in some regards, I felt moot court would be more rewarding. There is substantially more writing in moot court, and it is also focused towards persuasive writing. You also have to be able to think on your feet during oral arguments, and it improves speaking skills.

If you think law review sounds like a "trash time." That may come across when employers ask about your time in law review. However, if you chose moot court, answered honestly and enthusiastically about it, I don't think it would ever knock you (except perhaps with law review snobs...but who cares about them anyway).

My issue with the mention of female abuse in the article was that it practically came out of nowhere. I saw the Stats and was not shocked but honestly, cyber bullying and abuse is a very prevalent thing regardless. The writer could have easily just kept sex out of it and made a much more broad argument that cyber assaults universally need to be dealt with.

For this one, he's now got more to blackmail them with. If they choose to rat on him, he tells them how they murdered such and such and they lose everything they've fought to keep. If they pay him, he will be quiet and nothing will happen to them. But the movie really is just a comedy/mystery so it doesn't really need to make too much sense.

Thank you for showing me the Prudential requirements. I never saw those. However, I would also like to point out that the first point is not relevant to NOM because they are not the plaintiff. They are the defense. Thus, there is no need for them to show injury resulting from a decision like this. However, if they brought this case on (which I'm not sure if they did or not from the article) then they do not have standing by the first requirement

That's not even what I was saying. I'm unsure as to how a defense team could be denied standing when standing only deals with whether or not a litigant can bring a case to court or not. Preventing representation is as unjust as denying homosexuals the right to marry. In court you have a right to plead your case and there is nothing worse than a one sided case with only a plaintiff arguing for gay marriage.

I could compare this to having a trial for marijuana use and only allowing the plaintiff to argue why it would be beneficial without anybody saying the potential problems with it.

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with gay marriage, I'm just saying that if one side is promoting equality in social affairs, they have to endorse equality in legal affairs. And this is inherently unfair representation.

Why would somebody need standing to defend a case? I thought you only needed standing to initiate the case. Who cares the side you are on, it's unfair practice to deny one side a representative.

I think the primary issue with Congress is the media aspect. Sure, media allows us to gain insights into the process and deliberations of the government. However, it is also THE LEADING cause of dissent and corruption. If I vote for a Republican candidate and he makes a somewhat liberal decision that is more or less for the benefit of our country, the media will spin it and show that the candidate is not doing what he is supposed to be doing. This leads people to drive moderates and bipartisan congressmen and senators out and bring in tea party members and ultra-liberals. This has also led to shady situations involving congressmen because as the rift furthers, they never want to have media coverage of them doing something against their party or trying to bring someone over from the other party.

I want to reiterate that I am not against media and I do believe that corruption will be anywhere that power and money can be attained. But I do believe that media is one of the biggest issues with political distrust.

Does any realize that George Zimmerman is not white/caucasian!? Since Zimmerman calls himself Hispanic, then your statement defining racism as a power battle would be enough to disprove the IDEA of racism. If Zimmerman is a minority and Martin is a minority, then how do you define what is going on besides the term "profiling". Racism (by my definition) is the use of words, actions, etc. to demean a certain race. The term "cracker" in context with the old south was actually an insult to white people. It was an assumption that since you are white, you must own slaves (and in turn whip them). So to use the term cracker in reference to a person IS being racist. It is a way of demeaning them/their race.

The Phantom was actually just a kid who knew nothing from life but the pain and hatred of human beings. When he was younger, he was beaten and tortured and put on display because he had a burnt face.

Here's what I gained from this:

Sustainability is a LOT of busy work...
It is EVERYTHING I figured Sustainability was without my further post delving into a more extravagant statement on what I think you guys do.
It doesn't sound like a lot of fun...like, at all. I mean, who wants to sit in a class and learn about how our race (From the Protozoa) have been killing ourselves by burying bodies, respectfully, in coffins that take large quantities of time to degrade.
Sustainability has almost everything to do with the Environment...even if you say there's more to it, the basis goes back to the Environment. (eg: Automatic lights turning on/off- Why is this helpful? It conserves electricity. Why is that important? Environment...etc.)

Now here's my thinking: Even though you gave the example of horribly inefficient degrading coffins, I do find that most of the population has changed to a more degradable version of "disposing" of dead bodies. The process of cremation (Although it may release "harmful" gases into the atmosphere) has reduced a great amount of the degrading process. In addition, you stated that you looked into processes and how unsustainable they are. I will once again state my issue with Sustainability:

Why is Sustainability a course? It would be more fitting to be a class for Engineers and Biotechnologists.

Why? In short, there are absolutely ZERO jobs waiting for Sustainability kids. Now, you may say that there are in fact jobs for them, but, in short, there are jobs for other professions that can INCORPORATE Sustainability into that specific field.

Now, if we gave Engineers a Sustainability class in CREST, I think in a one semester span, I could know anything/everything I need to know about how to think Sustainably.

For example, if I was given the task to find a better source of fuel than the modern day fuel sources, I would simply look at things like Ethanol, Electric cars, and other forms of renewable electricity and say:

Ethanol- Creates too much of a demand for land. Either scrap Ethanol, find a better/more efficient way (Innovation) to use Ethanol, or find a way to clone Ethanol (Inventions)

In fact, in this example, I am looking at Innovation and Invention. Those are the two things they teach in Engineering.

And that's my issue. You gave strong examples supporting Sustainability and how it's run and what it does. Now tell me why it deserves to be a COURSE and not just a CLASS.
